A short one, but this marks my return to the dwarf content.

Hey, if you're looking for suggestions, I think a lore video on The Proving would be interesting. There's not a lot of codexes attached to the Proving, but it figures prominently in two characters' backstories: Oghren was booted out of the Warrior Caste for killing his opponent during a first blood match, and House Tethras was exiled to the surface because Lord Andvar Tethras was caught fixing Proving battles.
As your video also indicates, the Proving also figured into the founding of the Silent Sisters, and Beregrand the Bold was also exiled after killing a king at the Proving.
You could also mention that the dwarven Proving apparently inspired a similar gladiatorial arena in Tevinter.

I like the idea of the Silent Sisters, though I'd forgotten they'd supported the kinslayer - I wonder why? I also initially thought that they were only martial artists as they were often depicted as such in the written supporting material. However, in the game itself they always use weapons. Interesting too that they are effectively casteless and don't seem to warrant their own codex entry.

Simple answer: the Silent Sisters are pledged to support the Aeducans, no matter who it is.

Interesting too that they are effectively casteless and don't seem to warrant their own codex entry. I don’t think they’re casteless, it’s implied that they are all women of the warrior caste. I don’t think there’s a specified reason why those Silent Sisters we met supported Bhelen.

I guess I mean that they can enter the order from any caste. What happens to the status of their children, I wonder? It's a bit of an extreme way to improve the status of yourself and your descendants, of course! Anyway, once again your videos, however short, provoke thought and reflection on the world of Thedas. Keep up the good work!

Keep up the good work! Thanks! I don’t think all castes can join the Silent Sisters though. From what we’ve been told, it seems like only women of the warrior caste can join. I don’t think it’s explicitly stated anywhere, but I’m pretty sure the Legion of the Dead is peculiar in that respect.

I’m pretty sure the Legion of the Dead is peculiar in that respect. I would have thought so too. However, the Wiki takes it information from the original DAO: Prima Official Game Guide, which appears to contradict itself as initially it says that not all females of the Warrior caste join the Silent Sisters, suggesting that they are drawn from the Warrior caste, but then says that their caste plays no part in whether a woman is accepted into the order, only that they can prove themselves in the arena. Which seems odd to me as even Astyth the Grey was originally from the Warrior caste and the whole point of the DAO dwarven commoner origin was surely that they should not have been allowed into the arena as they were casteless. So may be you can be a Silent Sister so long as you belong to a caste regardless of whether it is the warrior caste but you cannot join them if you are casteless. In that respect the Legion of the Dead would be unique.
