I love the new look of things. Sure, it doesn't look like the original exactly but hey, if I want that I can always go back and play the original ME1 with MEUTIM, not to mention that I have already seen that 15+ times. I am really looking forward to have a very fresh and a little different experience with ME1 and what I've seen so far looks fantastic.

As for Eden Prime, I always thought the super dark red sky was very odd because we don't really see any fires or a lot of smoke rising from the ground. Yet the sky was somehow red. But in the transmission that the Normandy receives, it wasn't (and in ME3 it isn't either). So this makes a lot more sense to me. They could have lowered the un even more I guess, make it really just touch the horizon and thus give a little more reddish tint just because of the sundown but whatever, I love it as it is.

After seeing the trailer which shows mainly render cut scenes and scenes from ME2/3 I was not really that interested. I thought most of that didn't really look much better than my modded games that I already have on PC. But those ME1 comparisons made me very happy and it looks like they spent way more effort on ME1 than I ever expected. Now I am really looking forward to May.

I hope that veil of green on Feros is from tonemapping, which could in theory turned off in the settings if available, if not then from unreal .ini files hopefully.

That is just wrong color totally for me.

I think the atmosphere thing is a good point but it's hard to say from a few stills. I'd love for Sovereign to be partially wrapped in billowing smoke and red lightning with some random strikes near us on approach on Eden Prime...kind of like the Fallow Mire. I actually jumped the first time that happened.

I admit, I will miss the atmospheric doom and gloom vibe I originally felt with the red skies on Eden Prime, and I feel sorry for new players who will miss that. Though, if we're being more realistic with environment, the new screenshot looks incredible and I'm excited to immerse myself in it because it does fit my mindset of what a garden world should be.

As far as other changes to ME1, there's not much that benefits me. I don't play femshep, or do anything with the CC in this series, so all of that holds zero value to me.

Original is darker and more into blue. Seems like its almost reverse values

Overall lighting is better in remaster as we can see from the shadows being properly on the shadowy sides. I wonder.... *thinkery*

I really don't like the new lightening for ME1, the game is too bright & grey now. I really much prefer the original darker tone. Eden Prime lost it's red sky, that's sad, it really added something to the atmosphere. Sad they didn"t reworke the lightening without changing the tone & colors.

I actually like the the upgraded look. More realistic. I think Sovereign actually looks more intimidating and the newer shot as well. No need for cheesiness, to try to convey emotion.

I am definitely interested in seeing how the UNC worlds turn out. Some of those greener garden worlds looked like green carpeting so hopefully they added grass textures. Another world I am excited about is Therum, anxious to see what they will do with a volcanic environment.

I'm not a fan of harsh lighting or high contrast imagery. As my eyes adjust to the overall image, the bright areas are too bright, and I can't make out detail in the shadowy areas.

I'll reserve judgement until we see more of what's on offer, but color me unimpressed with what we've seen thus far.

Noticed this way back in 2007, have always assumed this to be an oversight, along with other lore inconsistencies. Though players are expected to spend hours exploring Feros not staring at the Galaxy Map, so you'll excuse me if I consider the Class A/B blue star as canon. For those of us that are extremely sensitive to colours and have strong visual memories, this is almost mental imprinting, I guess that's why I'm nitpicking.

Can I say I am not a fan of the new HUD, as well? I think the original HUD showed a more detailed view of the damages on the Mako. I doubt we'll be able to tell what the fuck is gong on with the far rear left wheel. Unless they removed parts damage entirely. In which case, I am a sad panda.
