You could just try not caring about the achievement notifications, right?

Atemporal Vanguardian-Debugger , when I said limited functionality, it was because the new app was still in early user testing … a lot of planned capabilities were not yet present or functional. That said, some things that Origin once did have got removed, left to be dealt with in each game … a guess, it got too complicated to have Origin address every game design, past, present and future (sound and mic settings are examples). No idea how they will handle achievements, they were not present in the version I used, but that says nothing as to the current state or what EA has planned for the end state. While IDK what the final state will be, I'm guessing it will have a login to confirm your ID (anti-pirating), a common launcher for all EA games which displays the games you own, an ability to download DLC and patches for your EA games, an ability to do game file repair and a store where you can purchase other EA games. For MP games, a friends list you can create, to invite folks to play a match or possibly chat with folks about stuff. It was too early in the user test cycle for me to speculate on it becoming something akin to Steam … IJDK. After my initial look and deciding I didn't want to participate in testing AND continue to maintain Origin, I uninstalled the test app and never looked back. If you log into the EA website (not the Origin desktop app), you can probably find the link to sign up to test the new software … I suspect you don't want to do that, then perhaps read what EA says they are trying to do with the new software. When I went there to download the app, the info was pretty sparse, just telling me that it would be the replacement for Origin … they may have added to it since then.

So I had a thought Assuming ME4 is a direct continuation of ME3 What exactly is preventing BiowEAre from saying "if you want to import any semblance of a world state you have to buy and play the Mass Effect Trilogy ultimate edition"? Just saying... Nothing. What stopped them from demanding you play Me1 or both ME1 and 2 to play 3 with character import.

You could just try not caring about the achievement notifications, right? Yeah I don't care about them. The issue was achievement notifications in Origin would crash MEA on my system. Got around it by disabling internet and closing Origin AFTER MEA launched. And since then things have changed that I no longer use any EA software. The new one @grinch speaks of -maybe but anything by these has-beens is usually trash...
That word is too good for the this trash...
No. Calling it trash is an insult to trash.

Uhm the Archives works for me but I am not understanding why NONE of my saves were ever clouded.... Did you log into the games after The Archives were launched? My understanding is you needed to go back into the old games and save the game to upload the progress to The Archives otherwise it won't be seen.

You have to manually create the MET world states … at first I thought they loaded, but no, it's just the default world states.
MEA runs load automatically. When it first came out, similar to the DA Keep, it seemed to load every save, not just your completed run. They've cleaned that up now, my completed runs are present as world states, but not the various save points recorded along the way.
A guess … MELE will load its world states like MEA. If I get MELE, I might not manually create the MET world states in the Archives, but instead just roll with the MELE runs. For me, the only reason to have the MET/MELE world states is for importing into NME.
A thought I had … while DAO and DA2 runs load into the DA Keep … to import into DAI … and I assume the DAI world states will load into DA4 … the lack of MET world states loading might be a hint they are not relevant to NME. If MELE loads up, that would dispel that notion a bit.
If only MEA loads automatically, it would seem to me that while the MEA world states are relevant to NME, the MET/MELE world states are not.
I'm inclined to think MELE runs will load … soonTM after 14 May, we should know for certain, sooner if BioWare speaks to the issue directly.
