Hey there, It seems there should be stuff working for reload cancelling in sp...? But i forgot ... and cant find it
I started using medigel as i should and it sucks: if i am not 100% health and have medigels, it kills my rythm and doesnt reload half the times. If i dont have medigels, it s also fucked up half the time. With mantis it seems i have to wait slightly longer to hit the medigel key.
I know there s something with nade (spec it, bound it to a key they respec shep without nade while the key stays bound to it), but i dont have nades even with bonus power. I guess i could try that with one of the nade NPCS, but i would be stuck with that NPC (btw, do NPC team-mates throw nades at some point by themselves ? i doesnt look like it)

I assume this is about Mass Effect 3.
You can reload-cancel in ME3 using medigel, but as you point out, it can use medigel if you are below 100% health. You can reload-cancel using powers in ME3 (power cancelling) I believe as well, but that means going on cooldown. You can reload-cancel using grenades. If you do not have any grenades left, I cannot remember if it will still reload-cancel. I have never tried this method. You can reload-cancel with the 'do everything' button (cover/sprint/interact button), but you will take cover if you too close to cover.
If you are using a controller (play on console or on PC with a controller mod), you can use a power on cooldown to reload cancel. Good for Infiltrators or Soldiers that you Cloak or Adrenaline Rush a lot. Same with an active Marksman. But again, this appears to be controller-specific as it may not work with keyboard and mouse.
Squadmates will not use grenades on their own.

I have worked around it a bit, and seems the only reliable thing is to have a nade power bound to your reload cancel key. Then u edit the save with gibbed and put that power to level 0. Nades arent available, but the key stays and do the work Lemme quote the selfquotation from @sonashi here in case someone look for that here as he/She should Let me quote myself. I did it like 3 years ago, but seems no one paid attention "Sorry for bringing up this thread, but I wanted to share with you my idea, of how to proper reload cancel in SP 1. Put 1 point in your last favourite power. For example I put my 1 point in sticky grenade because I don't use them. 2. Place you chosen power in your reload cancelling spot. I put sticky grenades in "7" hud button (alternatively it's V). 3. Save your progress and go to Gibbed's ME 3 Save Editor. Load our save -> go to Raw / 3. Squad (Player/Powers/Collection) and change your chosen power rank to 0. 4. It should look like this 5. Save your changes and reload your save in game. 6. If you did everything correctly it should work just fine For example even if I had 3 grenades, I was not able to throw them. I imagine it would work just fine with every power set that way. PS. Sorry about video quality. I had to convert it because I didn't want to spend my whole day uploading 3 Gb Disclaimer: No Claymore was harmed in the process of making this video. Revenant however..."

and also, i think i ll get my way around now, either with nade from a NPC teammate, either adding a nade power with gibbed, bound it and delete it : I use the empty grenade on a quick slot method. You don't even have to have the power if it is assigned to the quick slot. So that means you can even gib or console in an extra grenade power, map it, and remove it if you want. Medigel canceling is problematic in single player because if you have any health damage, or if any squad member has some damage, you will burn a medigel and get the long medigel animation, which is worse than actually reloading. ......

In order to be able to see a non bonus power added to Shepard like StickyGrenade with gibbed, u also need to type "Set SFXPowerCustomActionBase IsBonusPower true" in the console. Then bind it to your Reload cancel key and forget about it.
adding Stickies in gibbed look like this : i.imgur.com/BRfzDaE.png
then each time u launch a modded save and dont use the Set SFXPowerCustomActionBase IsBonusPower true" your stickies wont show, but the key will still work. I put it as the bonus power. Not sure what happens if i spec a new power bonus now.
