Hey you beautiful ME3MP people, long time no see...
So, while my masseffectin' days are mostly gone by, I've been playing this lil' new rpg looter-shooter called Outriders, from a Polish game studio that made Bulletstorm back in the day. Best description I can give is it's a mix between Division and... ME3/Andromeda MP. Not kidding, there's a Trickster class which effectively uses Vanguard/Adept skill set - it's got Biotic Charge ("Hunt the Prey"), Nova (running melee), Shockwave ("Time Rift"), Bubble ("Slow Trap") etc., with some animations seemingly lifted straight from MP. There's a cover mechanics, three active skills, aliens and alien-like rogues, Andromeda sceneries with 3D built prefabs ... See for yourself:
Haven't tried the other 3 classes, but Trickster definitely scratches that itch for me. There's even a demo (!) on Steam; do try it for yourself. Game is a bit clunky, dialogues are pretty horrible (damn shaky cam!), but the combat is extremely satisfying; fast and visceral.
Now if I can only make a sniping juggernaut-ish character with OHK Widow, that would be pretty cool...

I played the demo for 30 hours with Trickster, Technomancer and Devastator. Despite all the flaws it was quite addictive but I didn't buy the full game yet because I hardly have time for it right now and there were a lot of problems after release. Unfortunately it has become more and more popular to throw half finished games on the market and I'm usually better off buying them at a later point (which also means less money for me to spend but also less for the studio).

Outriders update: Guess I won't try it out after all. I DLed the demo in Steam, but the whole account thing is super funky. I have an account from before the account transition thing they had, but it won't let me log in or link the old and new ones properly. I also can't create a new one in the new system with the same email, and none of the account recovery stuff is working. Bummer because it looks fun. Maybe I'll bang my head against this particular technical wall some day further down the line when I have more time to kill.

Don't worry crashsuit - it looks like the devs still have a lot of work to do. Apparently they constantly keep adding new bugs while trying to fix the old ones and the experience with the game can be rather frustrating right now. |

So; been playing it on and off, still maining Trickster. Game has been patched multiple times, loot is abundant; it also runs (and looks) much, much better on shiny new 3070 than 1070 before. Recommended.
PS: Did also manage to get some classic ME3MP action; met some familiar names (andy, velaut). Looks like the game is still running strong & getting love.

I started playing last week after my closest friend gifted me the game when I asked him if the devs gave him some keys by any chance after he recently beat the EOTS solo world records with Technomancer and Trickster  I've been playing a lot these last few days and I got carried through some expeditions for loot and resources last night after I finished the story. Obviously still a lot of things to grind for but I started playing my second class today. In the demo I started with Trickster and the Technomancer but now it's the other way around. I continued my Technomancer savegame from the demo but deleted the Trickster and started from scratch with that one. There are still some annoying bugs but I'm having a lot of fun regardless. It's weird coming back to a game like this without even the ability to jump after I have mostly been playing Anthem so much and some Doom Eternal every now and then. |
