Why cheese Geth on White, when you can cheese them on Giant? Also Geth are the easiest faction, right? That's why it took me like 6 months before I did my first Plat solo ...

[Shamefully raises hand] Maybe twice when I was first daring to try Gold?
My first "real" Gold was probably in Operation Broadside, where you had to extract on Gold vs. Reaper. After a few failed runs on White, I was fortunately able to get a hand from one of the old BSN denizens on Reactor. I probably got Banshee sync'd a half-dozen times.
Why cheese Geth on White, when you can cheese them on Giant? Also Geth are the easiest faction, right? That's why it took me like 6 months before I did my first Plat solo ...
Back then, the original White was easier. Geth were the easiest faction (Reapers were the hardest with warping Banshees). BW made a lot of changes to address this White: changed map layout All, but specifically addressing White cheese: melee mobs ignoring decoys, Pyro grab-immunity, fixed/buffed Prime pets
enemy balance: added Bombers, Dragoons

FBWGG? More than I should have. I stuck my little coward Asari Adept behind that counter for more than a few grabfests on xbox360 back in the day. I did shake the habit before long, but unfortunately picked up an even bigger crutch - infiltrators. Once I unlocked the GI, I paired a Claymore to him and started speeding up those FBWGG games by creeping up to the stairs and using some right-hand advantage to soften things up. When the TC nerf hit, I somehow thought my Shotgun Infiltrator was being unjustly persecuted. "I don't aggro dump" was my argument - how foolish I was. It wasn't until I started playing with Disciple888, Uh Cold, Magniflyer, ALTBOULI and a few others that I started to shake the habit, but it took me entirely too long. Once I switched over to PC, I started to learn how to actually handle aggro (sorta.)

Ahh yes, "Reapers". Those really were the dark days. I will never forget the days of the Banshee "Magnet Hands" (Working as Intended TM). You'd hear the Doomed queue their mic and a furious clicking of the keyboard "What the FFF"! That shit never got old. I wasn't even sure if you could stagger back then. I'm damn sure not wasting rockets on scrubs or pugs. I guess that's why I got my fair share of death by "cheating bulls!t Banshee, probably that ho-bag Morinth!"

Lol, no shame here fellas.
Lots. So many times. Then the room of shame ("Panic Room") in old Glacier for Platinum... so many times. And still not ashamed.
This game was the first time I played video games with other people. ME1 was the first "shooter" (lmao) that I ever played. So the learning curve was steep and I sucked hard.
Not much has changed, really. Other than all the successful solos, the carries, the curries, and the rockets at my teammates, I still am and always will be a scrub. And your friend.

Before my time, but if I'd been around then I probably would've let myself be peer pressured into doing it. It wasn't a matter of peer pressure, trust me. I knew I sucked, as did everyone serving grabs at the Geth Service Counter. It was a preset that good players loathed, and was a mark of shame at the time. Really. It was the reliable way to get Gold creds as a scrub with no aim, no understanding of hot keys, and no calm. The pace of Gold is so much faster than SP, that I was defenselessness without a strategy. Now I cackle around the map like Dr. Doom with no Fs to give, but there was definitely an evolution.

I can honestly say 0 times. Although I did my fair share of Geth farming on the vanilla FB White with a few people - but we didn't cheese it but actually played it properly. Well kinda... we basically just stood above the ladder and sniped everything like we were on a shooting range.

And I hate everyone that did because your depravity unleashed the abomination known as the geth bomber.
Good Job scurbs. Bet you all graduated to playing Reegar Proguard vs geth, didn't you? Or maybe you went straight to missle glitching

I guess I can share
Iirc I did it about 4-5 times, all my lobbies. The best thing was that everyone knew what to do as soon as the game started. In normal games there was no sense of teamwork or awareness but in FBWG a group of PUGs could come together to form an unholy dairy alliance.
The last time I did it everyone died on a Wave 10 pizza and refused to gel so I had to solo it. I thought about dying on purpose just to spite them but I needed the credits as I had already wasted spent hundreds of real dollars in the store to better my manifest.
The bad part (besides the obvious) was that no one ever wanted to play as a Salarian Engineer even though Decoy made it so much easier. I was always forced to use it and I don't like that character so I just quit playing FBWG.

I think i did one time when i didn't know what was going on....(just learning the game)....i dropped into a game and other folks was saying "hey come down here"...at the time i was using the female quarian engineer and i was spamming cryo blast...i thought i was doing a good job slowing the geth from over taking us, but the group was getting mad at me for doing that.... ...."hey who is that guy that keeps using cyro blast?...use incenerate!..... I never knew what farming was or any of that.....

Bak in ze day. I was just coming into FBWGG, near the the end when decoy got nerfed. I didn't get to play in that setup for long but it was still doable regardless instead of the decoy, I don't remember the alternative to using decoy, it could've been just having the krogan vanguard tank in the basement area, but for me what I remember doing was I camped the stairway and peeked in and out as a GI claymore and shot everything that came down the stairs, and retreated back if I got shot in the back. And this was way back before biower implemented a hallway where there used to be a wall in the basement, to finally discourage players from camping there since I don't believe the camping died yet even with the decoy nerf IIRC.

At the time you were doing this, I had just figured out that infiltrators were actually good kits. Because I spent most of my time in-game floating over the map in the Vanguard glitch, still shooting at things as long as I could. I had nearly forgotten about that glitch, man did it suck.
