I plan to do one more soldier playthrough in Mass Effect 2, but I have no idea which bonus weapon I want to pick up on the Disabled Collector Ship. Please help me choose. I have taken each bonus weapon at least once before in previous playthroughs.

Which one of these did you use the least? Or did not use for the longest time?
I'm currently playing a Widow soldier, using the widow much more rarely than I had thought, but it isn't bad. I never got a Claymore maining anything working, though. Or at least not in a way that I'd enjoy.

I never got a Claymore maining anything working, though. Or at least not in a way that I'd enjoy. In previous Soldier playthroughs: - Revenant twice - Widow twice - Claymore once Widow is always solid (one-shot kills are always great.) But I think Viper is better for Soldier. Claymore is fun. But I like all shotguns on the Soldier. I had a lot of fun with Scimitar on my last Soldier playthrough. Revenant is... okay i guess? I have never really liked the Revenant; I actually prefer the Vindicator. Last time I picked up the Revenant, I ended up basically ignoring it for most of the game and used other weapons. Maybe I need to give it another chance? At this point, the bonus weapon for Soldier is almost an afterthought for me as i prefer other in-game weapons on the Soldier instead of any of the bonus weapons. I like to make a point of actually using the bonus weapon I pick up though, so I do want to make it count. So I will just let other people decide for me.

My vote is for the Revenant then. Have to keep you on your toes!
I used to use the Revenant all the time when I first started playing ME2 until I bought the DLC that had the Mattock. I like it's damage and the sheer amount of rounds you can put out but it's lack of accuracy can be annoying.

Last time I picked up the Revenant, I ended up basically ignoring it for most of the game and used other weapons. Maybe I need to give it another chance? You made Claymore Soldier PT with vids with continuation in ME3, though to my question about using it in some DLCs you did not remember. And as you have mentioned, it was fun and you are a SG-fan. Maybe you can give the Revenant another chance indeed? But to help with that you can make a full Revenant Soldier PT with making videos? And end up using the Revenant all the time (mostly). Your yourself told about that intention and tendency with new weapon training. Just a suggestion, sort of push to continue using the Revenant all the time and might as well see another side of using that weapon and find another appeciation. Moreover, as understand, Revenant is the only weapon for a soldier you just left on Shep's back and continued to use SG, which can just lure (such thing happens to me all the time, struggling, yes). Anyway, yesterday myself started Revenant Soldier PT, like that weapon very much in ME2. Claymore was fun as well with continuation in ME3. Widow-Soldier was not fun at all for me, and in my case want to give Widow-Soldier another chance, just do not have kick or push. -- Considering this phrase So I will just let other people decide for me. just use the least favorite/usable weapon. That's the reason.

From a numbers balance, looks like it should be Claymore. But I voted Revenant, of course.
Claymore is ok with reload canceling on soldier. But it has a similar problem to the Widow in my mind, and that is that you can't fire it more than once under ARush.
Widow soldier is maybe one of if not my least favorite style in ME2. Claymore may not fire more than once under ARush, but it works well with BumRush and ElbowOfDoomTM. Widow can be reload canceled, but often you are sitting back in cover so it almost doesn't matter. Running up to enemies can be done of course, but for the most part I think reload canceling the Widow with Incinerate as an Infiltrator makes a lot more sense.
Another big problem with the Widow is that it doesn't allow you to carry the Viper, which is one of the best weapons on Soldier.

I voted Widow. IIRC the Revenant has too much spread and thus I prefer that Mattock or the Vindicator. For Shotguns, I prefer lower damage and larger magazine size so the Claymore never was my thing either. But the Widow is a nice special purpose weapon when you need to deliver a big punch from a distance to open up a fight. It shines right in after its acquisition against that awful praetorian on the collector ship.
So the Window it is.

I am recording the Soldier playthrough, and since the Revenant was the popular choice, I will be using the Revenant. Not sure recording the playthrough will help my Revenant usage as I like to switch weapons a lot on the Soldier. Also, I picked up Samara and Thane before the Collector Ship this time so I could get the Scimitar and Viper for the mission. We will see how it goes. Thank you everyone who voted.
