Just curious how players of the franchise want to see the character customization evolve in the next game. I know the terms "Good amount," and "Deep" are subjective, and - of course - we got nothing to work off of, but it's meant to strike a balance between both options. It would make sense that youd have deeper customization options if you only could work with your characters face. On the flip side, having full body customization could be something players would enjoy having so they can completely tailor their MC's appearance.

Doesn't have to be Cyberpunkian.

Full body customization without question. It wouldn't just benefit the protagonist, but the game as a whole since there'd be more options for NPCs as well.

Doesn't have to be Cyberpunkian. Clipping issues, skeletal animations, and physics collisions are probably some of the biggest issues devs have to deal with when giving players freedom over the body shape of their character. The armor options would also have to accommodate such changes (hence why I mentioned clipping). I'd say it would be relatively easier (compared to other games with full body customization) simply because the races in Dragon Age all have a human structure to them. The physiology of each races head would likely be the biggest issue (ex. Qunari horns or Elven ears).

While I would love some measure of control over body shape/size, I'd rather be able to create vastly different looking characters than have a handful of facial options I like and the ability to spread those out over a slightly taller than usual elf, or a slightly buffer than usual human.

Even playing other RPGs or othergames with create-a character suites I don't really bother with the little details outside of the face and how tall and broad my character would be. So yeah, Option 2.0 please

I'll take fewer options any day, if those options actually look half decent. Who cares how many hair options the game has when they look like plastic crap and five or them are some version of "bald"?
And I wouldn't mind being able to choose between a few different body types.

I think its high time to have the option to create more diverse characters, how about a very beefy barbarian-style character, or a very tall buff elf, or a very short fat Qunari? I mean, its fun and takes immersion / role playing to a new level.

Amusingly, Cyberpunk's body customisation is extremely basic, and outside of tattoos doesn't really reflect in game. At least for fem!V. Can't change height or frame, chest size isn't reflected in clothes, they just use default size, and whatever you put down there is hidden by unremovable underwear outside of menu screen. So that would not be worth loss of options elsewhere.

Magical flowing hair options and rainbow colours please.
Anyway, I support both but usually go for the default face + littlebit of detail adjustment.

I'd pick body customization but I kind of doubt we'd have to choose between these options. At least in my experience, games with body customization usually have good facial customization too.

DAI already had eight different body types any way, male and female versions for each of the four playable races, and nearly all the armour in the game had to be able to fit those eight different body types. I don't really see what's stopping them from making it so that all the races can choose between being elf-skinny or dwarf-fat. It doesn't have to be a slider with endless permutations, it can be a small selection (honestly what I'd prefer anyway). I'm not a computers guy, so maybe there are good reasons why they can't pull it off, but... Dragon's Dogma had like a dozen body shapes for each sex and a height slider and that was on the PS3, so... ?

Selection between a few body types is definitelly doable, though adding it on top of the DAI framework would be fairly labour intensive. They need to adapt all armour for all the body types available, so if they keep human, elf, dwarf, qunari, giving each, say, 3 body types, they would have make armour models for additional 16 bodies on top of what they already did in DAI. Which is definitely not impossible, but certainly a lot of work, unless they figure out how to make the game do it proceduraly without everything looking stretched or smushed on the non-default bodies. Although I guess BioWare games never really had all that many armour/clothing styles to choose from anyway.

I guess because I've been playing rpgs for a long time, I'm used to having a lot of facial options and few body type options. I'd rather have nice hair than be able to change shoulder width and height. Usually, if the game has decent graphics, the default body looks good anyway and I hardly ever modify the body, while default face and hair tend to be botched mercilessly and I always change them. I can understand that body creation can be just as interesting feature to play with. For example, I don't think I've seen the ability to create a hunchback character in any game generators, not sure about the limbs with integrated technology. Obviously, scars and tattoos all over the body are fun features too. As an old school player though, it's not a big must for me, if they're looking for something to cut down the budget on.
As for DA specifically, they still haven't evolved past fifty shades of bald, so, please advance in that direction.

Given how buggy Cyberpunk supposedly is. I say supposedly as I've not played it so can't talk for first hand experience. I'm not suer having to great a CC detail necessarily is a good thing. As far as I'm concerned so lomn gas they give us better hair options and a good CC like DAI's I don' think that's too bad

I'd love being able to play an actually buff/muscular lady Qunari in DA4 (Abby from the last of us 2 style, an actual mass of feminine muscle, an actual heavy lifter athlete) or a flat chested, willowy but muscular elven lady (or lad: male elf had a very buggy/overly slim build too) as a classic dancer/ice skater/gymn athlete. So yes, I'd like body customization. For some reasons, the women body types in BioWare games forgot arm muscles in the closet.

Dragon's Dogma had like a dozen body shapes for each sex and a height slider and that was on the PS3, so... ? DD has like a dozen presets for each gender, and then you can customize from there. Different heads, features, legs, backs, torsos, arms, etc., like 2-3 dozen of each, along with overall height, weight, and other body sliders. All of everything available for any gender or preset. Vast array of armor and clothing options that fit any of them. I never quite understood how they managed that, unless they have algorithms that generate (alter) meshes on the fly. There's just so many possible permutations. But - what DD doesn't have is much in the way of cutscenes. There are very few, and the characters are standing independently, not touching anything during the cutscenes. So they don't have to concern themselves with clipping in cutscenes like BioWare devs do.

So it's not as if there's been no time to work it out.

Bioware games have been starting to lag behind in the character customisation area. Would like to see them kinda start moving back up toward the front of the pack with a decently deep character creator.
If there's no sliders then the character customisation system is dated or designed to be superficial imo

Whilst i would like to be able to determine body size, shape and muscle I'm aware of the limitations having more options in that department tends put on armour and cinematics (armour that often looks flat and painted on, few animations that don't involve touching things).
I also value more and better quality face and hair customisation higher than body customisation options. So if I we have to pick I'd pick that.
However it would be really nice to be able to make a female warrior who actually looks musclely while she swings her twohander, and a scrawny male mage who doesn't have huge pecs.
Bioware did manage to do a model for each race/gender combination in dai. But I doubt we'd get body sliders or multiple options for every body part in a game with lots of cinematics and animations of characters interacting with each other.
But maybe they'd consider giving each of the race models a Thin, Fat, and Muscular version. While keeping the same height and basic model frame? That would probably be simpler?
Could maybe add things like body scars and tattoos which wouldn't affect armour, animations or cause clipping.

For me body isn't necessary. I hope they have worked out the Character creator and what it already has in DAI. My problem with some character creator DAI included is, i cann't see what i am doing and I don't have the power to imagine what's changing and whether it's going in the direction I want.
creating a character is really hard for me in DAI. If they cann't improve, the ability to create characters from photos would be a great help.

I was actually mostly satisfied with the character creator in DAI. I could dictate several details for the shape of head and had a healthy variety of colors to choose from when it came to eye and hair color. Not being able to dictate the shape of my body was a tad disappointing, but I can understand why they may not want to go through the trouble.
That said, there were some glaring flaws that really miffed me. The most important of which was the lighting in character creation. It. Was. Awful. I know we were in a darker portion of the fade, but could they seriously not give us a floating light of some sort we could toggle? The other thing was how the Inquisitor was always forced to wear that bulky mercenary gear. Can't they give us more sample clothing options? Or the option to get them down to their small clothes? When I'm making a head, I generally want to know what the body actually looks like before I make it.
Otherwise most of my gripes are about things like the lack of long hair options and wanting more control over the camera view.

If we can't get body sliders what about a different body type based on the class you pick (warriors are bigger and bulkier, rogues are trained to be fast and agile in combat so maybe not as big, etc)?

"Different body types" is essentially all that the existing DA races are, and there's no good in-story reason to lock body types to certain classes if qunari and dwarves can be sneaky and agile.
