I don't think anything will approach the carnage of post ME3 bsn lol.
In all the game forums I've lurked I've never seen anything like that still. Threads moved at lighting speed. It was a train wreck that you couldn't look away from.
It's sort of sad that it's one of the only things that the BSN is remembered for nowadays.
I'll be finishing off my preload tonight on Steam. Really excited to dive back into ME.

I honestly find the hater attacks to be pretty mellow for this one. Maybe it's because this is simply a release of games that already exist and this is simply an enhanced version. Kind of like an older car that has been restored to mint condition with a few extra bells and whistles. This isn't like the release of a brand spanking new game where the haters are frothing at the mouth to pull apart the game's plot arcs and characters with their "expert" opinions as to why their fan faction is better than what bioware came up with. So it isn't like they can make video after video on YouTube crying about Miranda's rear end forever. Of course there are going to be people that don't like all the changes they made but for those people they can still play the original versions of the games so really this is a win win for everyone that is a Mass Effect fan. cannot agree with you more Well said.

lol I have seen people forgetting not leveling up their Shepards and spraying their assault rifles all over the place. Not going to go well against that Krogan battlemaster on Therum. One guy named his stream Walkthrough and then just ran pass Presley Chakwas and Jenkins straight to objective marker. Way to go champ you will have the best walkthrough on the Citadel. |

But I will never understand people who get themselves game tattoos and such. I also just never can take people seriously who have emotional outbursts over fiction on a webcam recording. But that may just be my cynical, emotionally dead German attitude.
In the end, I am happy for anyone who can get that excited, I just don't quite understand it.
This is my take on it, as someone who has thrown books at the wall in anger after finishing them and been really, visibly angry. I was also kind of mind fucked by the ME3 ending. Most people look at me from the outside and think I am a major success in life that was born to win. I look at me as someone who has had to scratch tooth and nail for any drip of success I've had, and have been exhausted by the real world for many years. The escape is better than my reality, so I invest in it. In perhaps an unhealthy way sometimes. You have a point, this sort of attachment to obvious illusion (it's just entertainment) isn't sensible. But there's the perspective. Life is a pain in the ass sometimes, let me have my happy endings and I will happily shut the front door. |

It is a remaster, not a remake. The ending was always going to stand.
Being angry about it over nine years ago was amusing. Being angry about it now is just sad.
If people who have both versions can and wish to continue to play both, then it is a win.
