You read the first two together from top to bottom. "WE'LL Bang"  "OK?"

Sirpetrikus, if I didn't know any better I think you're egging me on......BUT....just in case you are truly serious, I will explain further.

In the case of the picture above you read the words both pairs of words (LEFT Pair) top to bottom (ie "Don't Open") Then move to the pair of words on the right side and read those also from top to bottom "Dead Inside")

I know, visually it doesn't make sense because we read everything from Left to Right, line by line...one line at a time. We are trained to read from left to read, line by line top to bottom. I get that. So something like this doesn't make sense and our brains think it is scrambled....But you have to make mental adjustment and visually read things differently to account for a way that would make sense grammatically.

When we were shooting that hallway, which was on location, there was a sign at our stages near the entrance.

It said, in all block letters,

"SMILE YOU LOOK NICE TODAY"

I decided this sign needed punctuation. So, I added two crucial commas.

"SMILE, YOU LOOK NICE, TODAY"

Hard to believe how long ago that is now. We shot that in 2010.
