Any way to keep the iconic armor with N7 Icon and red arm stripe and make it into heavy armor? I've been refusing to use heavy armor that I have in inventory even though it offers more protection. I have upgraded the armor from Oynx 1 to Oynx IV but it still seems to be light armor. I've also been adding upgrades, but so far the armor is not as good as heavy armor with different cosmetic appearance...
Any tips/tricks appreciated. It's been a few years since I played through the trilogy. It's good to be back.. Thanks, WranglerActual

Changed it when I got the colossus X.

It does not have have good stats (other armors are objectively better). It does go up to rank X, so it can appear all throughout the game. Really hard to get it to drop or appear in stores because of the loot system. Personally, I actually really like Heavy Onyx armor for Soldier Shepard because it looks iconic.

I was kind of hoping an option to apply the N7 Onyx look onto any armor worn would be included in the LE. It was never a wish likely to be fulfilled; but I guess transmog options in Assassin's Creed games have spoiled me.
Alas, poor Onyx armor. You look so good, but suck so hard.

Ye3ah thaqt's one of the big issues wit hOnyx armour which is why I don' ttend t ous eit I agreeit's iconic but unfortunately the statys make it too bad to really use in ME1. Beyond the first couple of levels that is. It's one of the main reasons why I switch to that Scorpion armour the moment I pick it up on Eden Prime after finding Ashley

Thanks all for the info. Much appreciated. I am going to keep wearing and upgrading my Onyx armor until I absolutely have to change it. Thanks again.

lol gotta love how sometimes the iconic stuff in games is also statistically the weakest. Onyx armor is the weakest in the game but it has the iconic N7 logo. The avenger assault rifle is basically just a prologue gun for me and in Skyrim the iron helmet on all the posters is the lowest of the heavy helmets.

I tend to run with the Predator MLH series and then use a camo pattern and green color on Shepard's armors in ME2 and ME3... at least then he looks somewhat consistent, but still no N7 logo in ME1.

I also like the Predator series best. Colossus is good, but I prefer both the look and stats of Predator. I'd gladly put the N7 grey & blood stripe on everything if I could. In ME2, I use a combination of pieces, generally in N7 colors. In ME3, I throw cosmetics and common sense to the wind and use the Cerberus Spirit/Nightmare. An N7 reskin of that would really make me happy. It's in MP, for crying out loud. Why do we only get a Cerberus version? Without my save editor to access my favorite pieces from the beginning of ME3, I'll just have to use whatever is best, likely in an N7 color scheme.

I like th ered and black of the Colossus and the damage protection of 70 is really high so I'm happy with that. I nfact it really suits the Shep I'm playing atm given she is a redhead she kind of look s sexy wearing it. Garrus is wearing a Colossus as well atm s aI managed t ofind 2 in this playthrough though the second one was a Turian one rather than human.

I have a theory that they put in Colossus after play testing on insanity and not being able to win some fights.
