After fixing peak 15, save before you get on the tram. I was stuck in place once the tram arrived at rift station. The auto save right before did not help, I had to roll back to a save before I got on the tram. I tried restarting and that did not help. Next when I arrived I could get off the tram fine.

I've had Shepard get stuck in place a few times now in different locations (so it's not directly related to the tram). The only thing I could do when that happened is roll back to a previous save. Sometimes the autosave was fine, other times it took a manual save... just depends how much earlier the autosave kicked in before Shepard froze. I think this sort of issue was in the old game as well... just perhaps not a frequent as it is now.

And right now MELE seems more buggy than the original, but honestly I don't remember how buggy that was at launch. I had it on the 360 initially, the bulk of my runs are on PC and I got it for PC when we were getting close to ME2s launch so its possible by then they had been ironed out.

I played the OT a lot on the 360 and then a lot more on the Xbox One. It seemed to get buggier on the Xbox One as well before the remaster... and now a little buggier again with the remaster on the Xbox One. I think it's just a general trend with each O/S upgrade. I still occasionally go back and play it on my Xbox 360... and Shepard has definitely frozen a few times on that system as well.

Hmmm...
Does the LE install all of the Microsoft run-time executables, for DirectX and such?
Do either of you have the original games installed on the machine you are playing LE on?
It is possible that they forgot to include a binary or a .dll, but if you have MET and MELE on same PC then this is a fruitless search.

I do have my original ME1, ME2, and ME3 discs and I installed the game on my Xbox One from those discs. Of course, the discs once installed automatically ask for an update from Xbox Live (so I don't know what changes were made to accommodate the backwards compatibility). I haven't got my hands on an X Series yet, so I don't know how things will run on that system for both versions.

I don't have a PC version. I don't think my question is directly relevant for you then, but probably the answer will be the same for Xbox and PC when they discover the root cause since the issue exists for both (all?) versions.

For me its a brand new PC so I have not re downladed ME1 OG yet. Not sure what would cause it. Too be clear on the frozen part I can talk to my companions, I can go into combat mode, if I sprint my legs move, I just got caught on nothing and wont move a step. I've been caught on things before in ME2 mainly, but there was a visible something I was caught on. What made it weird to me is how it happened every time with a auto load, as when you load you can walk around the tram(not leave it) hit the go to station button, walk around a second or two before the movie sequence of tram travel kicks in and you still get caught on the invisible piece and can't move a step, even though when running you have the running animation.
When I went back to a old save it was fine. A save/load has solved a lot of the bugs I've encountered but you can't save in a elevator/tram.

In the OT, I got used to saving before every elevator ride in Noveria … too many times it froze up. I thought about it, going through Noveria this time, figured they'd fixed it … sounds like not. Welp, the next ME1 Noveria run, back to saving before every elevator ride (and now, perhaps before every tram ride). Progress.

I had this, too. I loaded the autosave, got out of the tram, saved and then got back in the tram and it worked fine.

Same here, autosave before jumping to the tram, then after the cut scene with Captain Ventralis you get attacked by two Rachni, but somehow it got bugged for me and only one showed. The other one was visible at the radar but i guess it was under the map or above (the cut scene didn't resume automatically as it does when you kill both Rachni). So I rolled back to the autosave but I couldn't get out of the tram. The door opened but my Shepard and the team couldn't move like they got glued to the floor. Loading back the autosave again didn't help so I had to load a manual save and lose 30 mins of game time. I didn't have such problem when I played the old ME1...

No issues on Noveria so far but I do have an odd one where space bar stops working to interact with items when I get out of Mako sometimes. Have to save and reload to get around that.
Getting stuck in environment I think is an Unreal engine issue. I use to see that more in ME2 if anything.
