I have just started Mass Effect on my PS4 and I have a couple of questions 1) is there any way to lighten environments. It appears not, but I am on Faros and can barely see anything in all those dark alley ways. A flashlight would be nice. 🔦 2) I seem to remember was a way to speed up the Normandy when you are traveling to investigate planets in various clusters. If so how? 3) Is there a quick way to automatically or at least more quickly upgrade equipment? There are so many options and I find it very time consuming
Thanks 😊

You can calibrate your screen from options, there is b&w N7 logo for that. I think I had to put -5 on it for my screen, though the Feros is quite dark but more like realistic then (thats my telly problem)... If you like it lighter, thats the thing to fiddle with first, then with the telly controls I think

There are so many options and I find it very time consuming Thanks 😊 1) As the post above me said: go in options, and then calibrations. I always lighten it to +4. For reference, you get a flashlight in ME:3 that activates when it's dark. 2) No there is no way to speed up the Normandy when exploring. 3) No, the ME:1 upgrade and gear management is the way it is. I suggest after every mission putting better mods on your weapons (and the crew members you'll use more often), then sell the rest. Hope that helps.

1) As others have said, the brightness adjustments and contrast adjustments (if you have HDR) are the only adjustments you can make to the lighting in the game. I agree, at times it would be very nice to be able to flick on a flashlight... as in FO4. Making color, brightness, and contrast adjustments to your TV can also help. The remaster did help with the lighting conditions on several of the planets I used to find difficult...unfortunately, with Feros there is now more dust in the air than in the old version, so it's worse.
2) You're probably thinking about an option they added to Mass Effect:Andromeda, enabling people to skip the travel scenes between certain planets and stars. No such option ever existed in the Old Trilogy.
3) It's not quick, but you can now at least sort your equipment and flag what you don't want to use as junk... which is a big improvement over the old ME1. The inventory system was really pared down in ME2 and ME3... so you'll find it far less cumbersome once you're through ME1.

Thanks to both of you. I haven't played ME 1-3 in years! I guess I have gotten a little bit spoiled with all the options newer games have. Shame on me! I used to have to type in my instructions while playing games (the original Kings Quest)

I prefer a little lighter, so a +4 was perfect for me. I can't think how to 'speed' the Normandy. I try not to get trapped into constantly upgrading - when I start to see the next level of stuff start to drop, e.g. II then III... I head down to the cargo bay and use the crew's lockers to give the best I have for them, then sell the rest. I repeat this up to 9x to max level.
