Why are you here?

Same here...I love ME3MP to death, but nowadays I only play it once a week, and I don't really want to play any new games... The only thing that would take me from this inertia would be a Panzer Dragoon Saga remake.

I guess with age comes a certain urgency. Games are getting more complex to learn, or we ARE indeed getting old and dont learn as fast as we did. So, when I see a new game popping, I calculate the time requirement to git gud on it. then I think about  my kids, my work, my family and all the time and energy I would have to take away from these real priorities to devote to fantasy, lonely escapism. And lately, the latter wins, always.

Why I am here? Well, MET was special, something I really cherished, and something that I hoped it would turn into one of the biggest sci-fi multiplatform phenomenons of the 21st century. But Mac and Casey came and destroyed it with their idea of artistic integrity. Now, ME3MP gives me a small glimpse of a time that I was a fan of something. 

That too. There is a comfort in going through the motions of picking your char, choosing the loadout, equiping the consumables and arriving in tuchanka.

My zen game is Salarian Infiltrator with Widow (O.G. Widow, not OP destroyer of worlds Black Widow). cloak, proxy, shoot, cloak-proxy-shoot, cloakproxyshoot. There's a beauty in the rhythm, a place to get lost from the bad stuff, even for a short period of time.

Because this forum hast the most skill and the best gameplay culture of all ME3MP communities I'm aware of, and I'm in a lot.

To think, if the dumbos had included mp for the remaster of Me, maybe kick in a new map or two and a new gun they would have had everyone and their dog buying the thing just for new mp.

And lo and behold I am just about to ready up, vorcha sentinel...

seriously, I would probably even buy some of their greedy fucking loot packs if they did a ME3mp remaster just to make sure I get VENOM and grenade capacity gear right away

I m with you Russ, i always wonder why i keep coming here and firing up the game.
Most stuff have been said already, i checked most your boxes. I guess i ll stop^playing for a while when my work gaming laptop dies or when someone ask for it at work
that place is mostly dead though, wehn MELE hype goes down, it ll be a good time to stop coming here more than once a week !

Good question, I guess it's the sum of many little things.

Nostalgia and comfort is part of it. Remembering the ol' gang from BSN Prime, hilarious posts and trolling the mods at the end of it all. Remembering those who found their way here and stayed for awhile. There's a comfort in the tried-and-true. I'm not willing to invest a 1000 hours in a game anymore, patiently waiting for it to be balanced and polished. Imagine doing that with Anthem, only to see it shut down after a couple of years.

I was once a teenager with a smaller waistline, wondering when I would loose my virginity and how to get tickets to that Pearl Jam concert. Those were fun days but long gone and now I'm in a different place in life. ME3MP has survived much longer than expected so it's only natural people move on to other pastures and at some point I had to realize my mom wasn't going to wash my clothes for eternity.

Is it foolish to think back to the glory days, be it life or this old-ass game? Imho, only if you can't accept the present. Don't know if this makes any sense .

Anyways, how many "how much longer?" threads have we had over the years? Yes, we are few left but there's still a spark of life after nearly 10 years. The servers are still active and new blood bring the Avenger I to the fight, so why not stick around?
