So I completed the mission with the biotic terrorists holding the drugged Sirta Foundation scientists hostage, with all the scientists surviving. However, an elevator news story on the Citadel reported it as a "brutal massacre" with the scientists supposedly firing upon Alliance soldiers. Was this a bug in the original version of ME1 too, and does it have anything to do with the news story reporting financial troubles for Sirta in ME2?
On a related note, I had to LOL after Charming Elias Keeler into getting help for his drug addiction, then hearing on literally my very next elevator ride that his assistant had concluded successful negotiations with the salarians. That must have been the shortest negotiation in history.

Must be an issue with how the plot flag is read out, rather than how it is set though because in ME2 now, you hear the correct news announcement, that Sirta foundation had some sort of medical breakthrough after that facility and all personal was saved. IIRC, in the OT, the ME2 news was also bugged and would always say that Sirta is close to bankruptcy or something like that.
