It seems like the puzzle sections have been cut out entirely. I remember having to use rocks to hop across a lava flow and using venting to boost the Hammerhead up a level. And the planet with the Geth barrier was significantly harder, unless that's all in Project Overlord, but I don't think it is.
So yeah, did they trim it down and lower the difficulty (and the frustration) level by quite a bit?

That was never a part of Firewalker... you're thinking of Overlord.

Well damn. I really hated those parts. There are some techniques that make the Hammerhead sections of Overlord a little easier.. For example, when you're taking out the two turrets together (e.g. on the one ledge before puddle jumping to the Volcano Station facility), you'll notice that the missiles tend to track towards one of the two turrets, regardless of where you aim. Once you know which turret is the preferred one to take out first and you aim "going with the flow" so to speak, it gets easier.
For the puddle jumping sequences, there used to be a spot you could jump from that would short cut a large portion of that last section. I say "used to be" because I've read reports here that they've taken that shortcut out. I'm not yet Overlord yet in my first ME2LE run, so I can't confirm to deny it.
Good luck. I can sympathize. I love the Hammerhead, but I also found those particular sections to be a bit of a challenge through many of my runs... until I learned my bag of tricks (which I might now, unfortunately, have to learn new ones).
Peace.

I can confirm that they put invisible walls in to block that shortcut. But you can still get on the mountains on the other side of the ledge. There is also a mineral deposit there. If you then start your jump over the lava river from the very top of that mountain and use both the upward and forward boost in the jump, you can still almost get over the entire distance in juat one leap. I think I only had to quickly touch down on a single floating rock once and then could easily jump to the shore.

Couldn't say for sure but the Hammerhead seemed a *lot* more durable now. It's possible that I'm just remembering wrong, but it seems like even getting caught in the shockwave of the Geth cannon would at least set the Hammerhead on fire, and that doesn't happen anymore. So I didn't have to worry about bring down shields and avoiding the cannon and hoping the fire would go out the next time the cannon fired. I think you might be correct.

I thought I read that somewhere that they did make the shields on the Hammerhead a little stronger. It's possible, I never cam even close to being on fire while doing Firewalker in LE, but I don't have much trouble avoiding that in the old game either. I don't remember ever being set on fire by the geth cannon in the old game Overlord though. It was more a case of either I blew up right away or got away without damage.

I didn't notice any major differences to how the Hammerhead feels. Yeah I've not really noticed anything different about the Hammerhead. It'sstill as tissue paper as ever though the tactics I used for dealingwith the Geth cannon on my last original run worked against it on the LE as well. Though it did take me a fwe attempts to pul it off as I did struggle to do it quickly enough on my LE run at first. So I wa skind of pleased about that as it means I won't need t odownload any cheats for it.

I didn't notice any major differences to how the Hammerhead feels. Same. I would argue that Bioware haven´ done anything there. For german players like myself it´s still pretty annoying that Hammerhead VI lines in the Firewalker DLC havn´t be fixed.
Everytime the Hammerhead has to pick up materials i get the wrong dialogue that smoking isn´t allowed in the vehicle. For the first and second time is funny but not everytime.

I did the data hound and Vulcan Station part of Overlord yesterday (before I uninstalled the game due to bugs), and I would tend to agree that nothing has been done. They didn't even correct how the mission report says you're getting 9,000 credits for clearing that station when it really only gives out 7,500 credits. There is also another instance of that sort of shorting of credits in the Firewalker DLC. One of the mission reports says that it's worth 15,000 credits and you only get 7,500.
All in all, I'm very disappointed in how so many old bugs were not addressed in this remaster... and how many new ones were added.

I'm new to the series but old enough to remember when each game was released. I've never played the original ME2, but I found the Firewalker quest to be easy. There was a bit of platforming with the lava, but it was super easy.

There was a bit of platforming with the lava, but it was super easy. Yeah Firewalker is fairly easy the artifact collection with the Geth can trip you up if you're not careful as I've been killed on occasion by the Collosus's in that level Also Karumto the volcano planet if you don't get the jumps right you can end up dying there as well as again that's happened to me. Other than that it's not hard. The Hammerhead is more of a problem on the Overlord DLC than on Firewalker especially given all those turrets and the Geth Cannon outside Prometheus.I like the Hammerhead's new paint job but in terms of everything else it's the same as before.

I ttook a fwe moer attempts on the remaster as I think the cannon on the LE is slightly quicker but I eventually nailed it there too.

My old way didn't work as well this time as it used to. I used to keep firing until the VI said the geth cannon was locking in on our position and then I would quickly doge sideways, using the boost. The cannon would knock out the shield pylons for me and the sideways dodge was enough to prevent the make of blowing up (my reaction time has definitely slowed down since I last played ME2). However, this time the sideways dodge wasn't cutting it. I found that going up high into the air worked better... the cannon would consistently fire too low to damage the Hammerhead.

Basicall yit' skind of similar to how I handle the Architects in MEA reall yjus tstay on the move and just let a few shots off here and there at it's pylons till they'e rdown and then just mov from side by side and letting off a fwe blasts at the cannon itself. Only tricky par ti syo udo hav et obe caerful when going near the left du eto the fact you are on a cliff edge whereas at leas ton the right there's a wall there s oit doesn't matte rquie ts omuch if you overshoot when dodging. But yeah my reaction times hav enever been fas t thanks to my disability which is why I've always struggled a lot wit hthe Geth cannon and gaveup and used cheats on the old game. Bu tthe tricvk I'v developed for dealing with MEA's architects seems to work against the geth cannon at least for me.
