Yeah even though I had never played the game before, or looked up any information I knew this was going to be a sad game. There were so many hints like the group photo in the Citadel dlc and much more.

I did this initially, not thinking it through. Serious 20/20 hindsight moment, and I was sad. Easy to miss these moments in the game... lost, like tears in rain.

Good games make you RP Ferris Bueller. If you don't stop to take a look around, you might miss it.

I just finished a no-Wrex, Mordin-lives playthrough. It was fun being able to talk to Mordin before the end on Earth. It had been so long.

This is exactly why I'm baffled about people hating that DLC. It was 100% fan service and made me feel good about everything. If played at the right time it works even better.

That scene where they all go back aboard the Normandy and talk about having had a great ride, it's like they already know that they are about to die. I want the Citadel Epilogue Mod (CEM) back for MELE. That same scene was just the perfect final scene before the credits roll IMO. it was so much more impactful as a hopeful outlook into the future than the EC epilogue slides ever were. Having that hangover morning after the party and the everyone returning to the ship at the end just closed the trilogy perfectly with a focus on the friendships rather than some galactic fate theme (which I think is what the series is ultimately really about in the end anyway).

I know this is a controversial view, but I accidentally chose the Synthesis ending and was not surprised at Shepard's fate. Here's the controversial part I enjoyed the ending. But then again I am a weirdo I enjoyed the original ending for Fallout 3 lol.

Whereas I see the DLC as we know what they're going off to do. The get one last get together, one last bit of time spent together, before heading off. I'm assuming CEM has Destroy as the only option, sort of like how you can play MEHEM or JAM. Otherwise it doesn't work because I don't know if Shepard or any of the squad members survive. Plus, I can't see a party like that happening while the Earth is in ruins - which is true regardless of the chosen ending.

Not trying to sway you. We all have our own things that work for us. I just can't wrap my head around it.

Brooks always steps into the line of fire when I play the Citadel DLC. Tragic, really. I'm indifferent about Liam but Peebee has to go. She's worse than Mary Sue Liara, and that's saying something.
