I am having trouble loading mods onto my game. Years ago I used a lot of mods but two new computers later, old files are long gone. I just downloaded the two main mod managers on nexus.
One manager will only take dazip files (one of which I have) and the other will accept the mod but indicated it is not compatible with it and therefore it does not show up as downloaded content when I open the game.
So I have been able to add one dazip mod and that’s it. I will read through all the great info here but can someone tell me if it is possible to change files to dazip. I am not very savvy as you can tell 😀

What two managers? There are at least three (and maybe four) specifically for DAO, and a similar number of 'general' mod managers (Vortex, NMM, ModOrganizer...), used for a wide range of games. The best installers for DAzip files are either the native Bioware installer, daupdater, or DAO-ModManager. daupdater.exe is located in the bin_ship folder under the game install directory (i.e., Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship... the exact path will be dependent on where you installed the game, though). daupdater will only install DAzip package archives, it will not uninstall them. DAO-ModManager will install (and uninstall) both DAzip and proprietary .override archive packages. It does not handle manual overrides. DAModder will install (and uninstall) DAzips and some manual override mods, but it will not install .override archives. Be aware that it will sometimes fail to fully uninstall at least DAzips, leaving behind files that must be manually deleted.

I have DAmodder and DAO Modmanager
I was able to get lock bash into the DAmodder and working in the game.
More hairstyles, no helmet hack was installed into DAmodder but there was a message that basically said these mods were not made to be compatible with this manager
The DAO modmanager apparently only takes dazip files.
The mods I downloaded can be found in the DAO override file. The hairstyle mod worked once but when I created a new character it didn’t work!!!! I am at a bit of a loss 😏

I stopped using DAModder years ago, so I can't offer any insight into why it won't install certain mods, though IIRC, it can't handle RAR archives, if either of the mods use that compression method... As I said previously, DAO-ModManager installs both DAzip and .override archives. While it can't install manual override mods, there's no reason to use a manager for those. Just decompress the downloaded archive, and add the files/folders to the override folder, as the Maker intended. (I've been playing and moding DAO for 10 years, and that's how I do it.) Re the hairstyle mod not working, it sounds like a chargenmorphcfg.xml issue. Check your override for that file, and ascertain that there is only one file with that name. If there is more than one instance, then you need to merge the files into a single, working XML (use CharGenMorph Compiler, from the Nexus). If there is no chargenmorphcfg.xml at all, then reinstall your cosmetic mods, and run the compiler, if applicable.

(I've been playing and moding DAO for 10 years, and that's how I do it.) I recently purchased DAO Ultimate Edition on steam for only 5.99. What a steal. Anyways. I want to mod the game. I have an idea of what mods to use. The first mod I downloaded was being able to see what I was typing for console commands. It works, but the issue I have is that of all the commands that are available, only a few of them work. I'm able to add xp, but can't add money. I was doing this at the very beginning of Awakening with a new character. I have not played the main game. Is it possible some console commands only work for the main game and not any dlc?

Some DAO console scripts will also work in Awakening, but many do not.
There are Awakening-specific codes for some cheats, including a gold cheat code, per the DA Wiki:
as opposed to the DAO version, runscript zz_money X
I don't have any experience with using the console in other DLC campaigns, other than the plot flag debugs for Witch Hunt.
