I am spending a fair bit of time looting bodies individually. Is there anyway to collect all loot from an area as opposed to one at a time?

Havent played DAO since 2012 but having a blast!

I use a mod from the old BSN projects called Area Loot; I don't think it is available on the Nexus, though.

IIRC, there is a 'loot everything nearby' function included in Pheelon's Auto Loot (on the Nexus; be sure to configure the mod in dragonage.ini or you'll break quests!). Also, look at Dain's Fixes (also on the Nexus)... that has an optional 'Autoloot kills' module that may be what you want:
'Automatically loots any enemies killed by the party at the end of combat. Flashes a warning if the party's inventory is full.'
