Two days ago I started a playthrough on ME2LE and noticed how dark everything is,the details are gone in darker areas. I read that it is possible to edit the configfile, but sadly that also effects the colors in a negative way.
Anyone here know if there are any solution to the problem? Bioware should be aware about this....? Or maybe any mod on its way to fix this?

Like this? These are my medium and dark skin Shepards in ME2LE. They look like this most of the time outside of cutscenes. I'd love a fix. I've started using Nvidia filters during gameplay to raise the exposure and fiddle with shadows and highlights, but raising the exposure too far just turns those black blobs into gray blobs. How does editing the config file help? I'd love to at least try.

I just send a Bug Report to EA about this, would be great if we all could do that in order to get Bioware to understand that it is a common problem. Did you make it on their forum or somewhere public, by any chance? Because then I can add my photos in support.

Ah but as I said, original game was also crushed with blacks. Its how they wanted it to look. I thought it was always a bad choice to curve the S so much from dark end for the game.
With those settings you'll lose all the shadow detail from the scene it seems..

For reference, here is Horizon with the crushed blacks, vs. Horizon with the line DepthOfField=False added to the gamersettings.ini file. Vanilla:DepthOfField=False added to config file:I'll probably stick with the modified config file and just try to fix the odd coloring with filters, so that I can at least see Shepard's face. They (EA/whatever minor studios they used to remaster MET) MUST fix this. It's completely unacceptable that you or a modder have to find a workaround.

Based on the screenshots I have saved from my medium skintone Shepard on the original game, it was not nearly this bad, especially when you look at that picture of her with Jack on Pragia. The lighting differences on the two characters is absurd. With those settings you'll lose all the shadow detail from the scene it seems.. No, it's the opposite. Detail from the shadow regions comes back (notice you can actually see detail all over Shepard's face), but contrast is lowered, so the shadows are not as deep. Nvidia's in-game filters can help, and with more tweaking yesterday, I ended up with the image below (from a cutscene, because I forgot to take more in-action photos): It would be far better if Bioware fixed this properly, both because the workaround is inferior and because console players don't even have that option, but I find it far preferable to play this way than to go through another ME2 run with Shepard as a walking shadow.

Yes, details come back to Shep but the scene itself, the trees and buildings lose their shadows. I've always been of the mind ME2 has done something very wrong in this case; #1 crushed blacks with heavy s-curve, #2 lighting breaks up continuously and the lightprobes/maps havent got enough accuracy in them. True enough these same problems are in ME3 but in much lesser effect, in LE they seemed to have bigger lightmaps/probe resolution, but in some cases its still not enough.
