Mic's, do you use them? If so is there a non-push to talk option i.e. having the mic permanently on?
I have managed to install the console command again which allows me to type msgs but I find they often go off the screen too fast so I now have a headset that works. The problem is how it works, the push to talk is kind of annoying.
This is definitely one thing that's inferior to console

Pretty sure the option to be constantly on is in the sound settings.
For the text chat, there is a mod that makes it larger and it stays for longer.
I don't use microphones much with randoms, barely at all (t. Europe).

Nope.
First rig I played ME3MP on my roommates mics worked with no issues but mine wouldn't no matter what I did. We just left the doors open and hollered if we needed to.
Now I have my music balanced with the game sound in a such a way I can barely hear anyone on a mic anyways. (TECDET's rants go sadly unheard.)
I should get that text mod enlarger though. I frequently use that, and I know I miss a lot of texts sent my way cause they're too small to be noticed in-game or gone too quickly even if I do.

i m pretty sure u can leave the mic open in ME in game basic config, but usually, it can be a pain for the other pugs ... should be tried though.
then an small app to autoopen the mic when u speak should exist too

(Had to lower the in-game volume so I could hear everyone speak but it worked out in the end) thanks for the help gents 👍 |

My mic is usually lying around in a drawer and I only pick it up and connect it to the PC when I need it to talk with friends in Discord. Although I often even don't do that but use the headset of my phone instead and wear it underneath my big headphones. I never use ingame voice chat in any game and it's one of the first things I try to disable so random people won't bother me (with either just noise or with words I don't care for).

I never use ingame voice chat in any game and it's one of the first things I try to disable so random people won't bother me (with either just noise or with words I don't care for). But is there a way to disable it in ME3 MP? I haven't heard many people lately, but there is this one guy who often has the mic live and apparently next to his speakers.
So I've taken to connecting my mic (push to talk), setting it also as the chat output device, and putting it to the side so all the voice chat is unheard. I had a game with DoL and either they were behaving, or I went blissfully without hearing their tirades.

You can turn it off in configs.
