Source: Bioware GM on Bioware Blog the crater being Legionesque the geth(s) on the ground the "squad" (rather than going into what characters, what species) the mudskipper ship the SFX designation What am I missing?
Apart from the geth bodies, those aren't really hidden, they're in plain view. Maybe by five he's referring to each of the geth bodies lol.

All I got was a crater that looks like a geth and possible squadmates that are hard to make out though one looks like a krogan.

You know if you go to places like Steam, Amazon, and The MS Store and read the player reviews they're actually quite positive to MEA and IIRC MEA was the best game in the series according to Steam Users aka players.
MEA didn't bomb, it took time but it's finding it's audience.
Sounds like you don't actually read those reviews. Almost all of the most helpful voted reviews point out how the game falls short in various ways, it simply isn't as bad as some people claimed it was. But w/e live in the clouds if you want. They still recommend the game and give it a positive review even if they say it has flaws. Now sure how that is "living in the clouds".

I wonder how many fans are NOT invested in either Shepard or Ryder? The general assumption seems to be that if you want MEA to continue, you want Ryder to come back. I don't give a shit about Ryder, though I didn't mind them either - I just want a character that I can truly roleplay and not watch someone else's creation say and do things I wouldn't. If you want the trilogy in MW to continue, it is assumed it's because you want Shepard and the others to come back. I don't care. In particular, I don't care about Shepard. I am not interested in any particular characters as much as the overarching stories in both MW and MEA. The characters give spice but they don't form the basis of these games, for me. But based on fan feedback over the years, Bioware took the direction more to character-based story telling and will probably stick with it.

The protagonists were never the draw for me in any of the games. I really don't care about Shepard or Ryder. It's the exploration of the ME Universe that's interesting and the stories within it.

Yes, the game is flawed, but you know what? So is every game out there. No, because they declared a blatant falsehood. The Steam reviews do not consider Andromeda the best game in the franchise. All of the "most helpful" rated reviews make that abundantly clear. Yes they like the game, yes it's not as terrible as some ppl said it was, but none of them are living in a delusion world where Andromeda is the bestest ME ever and your just a hater if you disagree. You guys gotta stop with the toxicity.

Unfortunately, I think the average gamer associates Shepard with ME right off the rip. Understandable as to why, I suppose. But the fact remains that I think most non fans would see a Not Shepard game and be like "wait...wheres Shepard!?" We saw this with Andromeda around release as well. Many old ME fans I knew and spoke to told me outright they weren't buying it because Shepards gone. I tried to talk them out of that mentality but you can't use logic to debate emotional decisions.

I've seen some talking about the quarian ark dlc. I don't know if it was on this thread or another but anyways, I found this: www.artstation.com/artwork/aYqvL0He worked for me:a and this is an idea he had for it, nothing official though. That one would have made the Refusal ending cannon. That would be a dealbreaker for me.

The post was pretty much saying that ME: A was liked on Steam. He probably made a mistake that it was "most liked in Mass Effect" but I don't see any toxicity implied or otherwise.

The problem with Steam reviews is it's either recommend or not recommend. You have to actually read both the negative and positive reviews (at least a dozen of each if there are a lot) to get an idea of the actual general perception. Some people vote positive, yet start by saying it's far from perfect etc. There are plenty of games where you wish you could give something in the middle.

There are tons of ways to get rid of Shepard without Refusal. RGB can also get rid of Shepard and they're all better endings - and you know I hate G.

That's why I started to ignore reviewers and just go by what I like.

Some people vote positive, yet start by saying it's far from perfect etc. There are plenty of games where you wish you could give something in the middle. After reading reviews for years both professional and user commentary. I think the system Steam employees isn't that different on the mentality of the majority of users. A large number will give no nuance to their reviews and on top of that anything below a 70% is a bad game too. Now gaming websites have slowed down or altered their review process and plenty of people were mighty vocal about how their not having some arbitrary score at the end is a bad review. Since they won't be able to understand the reasons behind that score since all they want is that "7.0" score. I also don't think having something in the middle on Steam would make the requirement to read reviews for their pros and cons any less required. It just means there is one more category to read. So having a "go ahead and try" and "avoid" are a good basic system where your entire review process is based on individuals giving their opinion and don't fully understand nuance.

You are probably right. I learned quickly to analyse Steam reviews based on what I personally like and went with that. However, not having a middle option means I am unable to review many games which I don't want to slam completely but also can't recommend without any elaboration, while knowing full well that many people aren't going to read my review and will just go based on the number of positive reviews.

I'd say its the worst way to continue because trying to build on something that bellyflopped is a terrible idea. Having a Milky Way story that acknowledges the existence of Andromeda in some small way is the best way forward.
You know if you go to places like Steam, Amazon, and The MS Store and read the player reviews they're actually quite positive to MEA and IIRC MEA was the best game in the series according to Steam Users aka players.
MEA didn't bomb, it took time but it's finding it's audience.
Not even close. MELE has a 93% positive rating based on 23,260 user reviews, ME1 has a 93% positive rating based on 14,100 user reviews and ME2 has a 94% positive rating based on 13,018 user reviews. ME3 has a 74% positive rating based on 1332 user reviews, with a large chunk of the negative reviews being something along the line of "the game is great but Origin sucks ass", while Andromeda has a positive rating of 78% based on 7073 user reviews, with most of the negative reviews being about the game itself being a subpar experience that's not worth spending more than 10 dollars on. So in no universe is MEA considered by the Steam users to be the best game in the series.

They've established a large presence on the subreddit, too. (Among other changes I've noticed since the BSN era: whole swathes of people who all play as Sheploo and think it's wrong to have a custom Shep! Back in the day on BSN, playing Sheploo was frowned upon. There was that hilarious "No Sheploo" image in a lot of people's signatures.)
