It looks nice but, like the Nomad, is useless in battle. Those were two things I think people who disliked MEA pointed out as problematic. We didnt need guns on them - yet at least. And actually I'm of the mind we should not have gunz blazign all the time in the games, so better to have less of them IMHO Who says we need to be shooting all the time? The Tempest, for example, got damn lucky with the kett, and that was only because of the Scourge. Under normal circumstances they would have been completely helpless. But the way you talk about the Tempest and Nomad would, if you follow it to its conclusion, mean Ryder and Co would also not carry around weapons. That's still "guns blazing" if you're walking around with them. Though we don't see them all on Ryder and Co, if we go with Samara's first meeting we have to assume they're well-armed.
I'm just asking for vehicles being able to protect themselves, even if just as a deterrent. The Mako obviously needed weapons. The Normandy had a few instances of needing them but not many. Imagine that orb thing on the other side of the Omega-4 relay attacking the Normandy? It wasn't specifically expected but they were needing it. Didn't they also need it over Horizon? And then there's the end of ME3. The point is that we don't know we won't need those things but not having them is a surefire way of getting blown to space dust.
My true enjoyment of MEA doesn't mean I can't see flaw. Even if the Nomad simply had to blow obstructions out of the way on Habitat-7 - assuming it were still a golden world - it would have been very useful. "Oh, there's this giant rick in the road. Guess we'll just sit here doing nothing until someone comes along who has as a weapon." Similarly "Whoa, that asteroid came out of nowhere. Wish I could have blasted it into dust before it hit us."

It does seem a bit silly to go to a another galaxy and only expect to meet friendly aliens (or expect hostile ones to not shoot an unarmed opponent). In MW, humanity gained access to the galactic civilisation through a war caused by "misunderstanding". I guess Jien Garson was brought up in a sheltered environment and was too much of an idealist.

In MW, humanity gained access to the galactic civilisation through a war caused by "misunderstanding". I guess Jien Garson was brought up in a sheltered environment and was too much of an idealist. The whole thing was silly. It starts with Jen I have a dream crap Garson. For someone with a lot of credits, she sure is stupid when it comes to that. Not realizing she doesn't have enough to finish the project until after the fact. Not investigating the benefactor before accepting all those credits and whatever else. As soon as the benefactor waved those credits in her face, her brain turned to mush. The benefactor took over. She went with it because her brain left her head. It was too late to start having doubts about the benefactor just before leaving the Milky Way. The same can be said about Alec. I get he's sad his wife is dying, but it causes him to lose focus. He made no attempt to investigate the benefactor. What's funny is he doesn't trust his kids enough to tell them of his plan for their mother, yet trust an unknown to do whatever. If I was the top whatever in the Milky Way when Garson approaches me to join her on her sightseeing trip, I would ask her what defenses she has in place for the ships traveling to Andromeda. She will give a funny look telling me not to join her. They build these fancy ships with all kind's crap on them but forget to put in some kind of defense system in case they encounter any hostile forces. A lot of the problems the Initiative encounter were self inflicted. Why didn't a pathfinder travel on the Nexus? Why wasn't a tempest on each of the ships? There was enough room in the hangar for one as seen on the Hyperion in the hangar. Why weren't the pilots to the fighters and the pathfinder team waken a short time before arriving in Andromeda? They can make sure all equipment is in working order. Have the pathfinder team go over any scenarios of what to do if/when they encounter whatever. And that time could have been used for the pathfinder team to become familiar with each other. It was funny little Ryder learning who Kosta was on the shuttle to Hab 7. The pilots can escort the Hyperion to wherever making sure the way is clear. There are many things that is.....whatever about MEA. The one that sticks out the most is right after gaining control of Ryder. In the next area, a machine fails, yet it's Ryder who has a scanner to find the fault. Why don't the maintenance personnel have one? You know, the ones who maintain the ship. What's the point of having them if they don't have the equipment to do their job?

I disagree with you that a video game trying to represent something remotely realistic within a space fantasy, should send people into combat situations without any combat preparedness. It is so Pollyanna... Or Alfred E. Neumann. Does Gun Control mean using both hands? Does it mean banning guns? Banning for who? The people have guns... Riding in a giant space pillow with zero guns to defend them. Maybe the Tempest has a bunch of airlocks you can pew-pew through with your Predator 3000SUX.

Kahlee Sanders says she is not Hendel's 'type' but Jiro (a male character) could be. So quite clearly implied but the author of Deception didn't read Ascension that closely (if he read it at all). Then in Deception there was something that clearly assumed him to be hetero and I remember thinking, "what, wasn't he gay? Oh well."

🇺🇦Cyber-Bodya🇵🇱@gadzhegaHey @drewkarpyshyn sorry for bothering you, but there is a theory that Kaidan Alenko is an ethnical ukrainian born in Canada. And his name in translation from ukrainian means "shackles". Can you confirm or reject this theory? Drew Karpyshyn @drewkarpyshynCannot confirm, but BioWare was founded in Edmonton… or, as us Canadian-born Ukrainians sometimes call it “Edmon-chuk”. #MassEffect en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/Edmonchuk

What is the point of posting these tweets here? This is the discussion thread for your your already dedicated and ridiculously policed Twitter threads, Hrungr. I understand if you are trying to drum up some conversation by reposting these tweets twice in two different places within 5 minutes of each other... But that is also bot behavior. If you want conversation, I would appreciate more of your comments and less of your botwork. The botwork, to me, is the antithesis of a discussion forum to begin with, but that argument lost and so here we are. Again, please make discussion here, not a second linking of a Tweet. Or, do away with comment rules in the "Twitter" thread that doth must be clean.

The purpose of the main (non-discussion) Twitter Threads are for those who only want to see the tweets/news and not have to wade through (potentially) a lot of discussion to find them. Not everyone who comes here comes every day, and when it's busy, tweets can get buried behind pages of discussion around them. When things got busy here, mods were constantly working to keep the "chatter" down. So there were a lot of requests to find some solution for this. We tried a couple of different approaches on the DA board at the time, and eventually settled on this solution. Right now, there's not a whole lot happening on the ME front so it may feel rather redundant, but it's more about getting people used to having these two threads (before it gets busy). So don't sweat it, just ignore the other thread.

I've killed Kett with the Nomad, I just ran over them it's a lot of fun.

Probably the only thing good thing you can do with the Mako. Given it's legendary crappy targeting system. I guess we should be thankful we never had to battle a Thresher Maw in a Hammerhead 2 ways: get destroyed or hope you can run away given it's even more legendary crappy targeting system.
So yeah I still take the Nomad. Over those POS tanks.

I never had a problem with the Mako Targeting System or th Mako Controls.
The Mako is still the best Vehicle in Mass Effect.
Driving the Nomad was much more difficult to me.
