And the ending still sucks.

I wish news about the next Mass Effect are shown at The Game Awards. However, I think it's more likely that Dragon Age Dreadwolf gets a trailer, since that one is supposed to be much closer to release than the next Mass Effect.

It's too bad Gaider didn't ask the cop what he would have changed to make the ending better.

"Mm" is straight deflection, and "I hurried on by." is pure avoidance.
Both seem to be internalized responses. Probably from hearing input exactly like this about a zillion times.
Casual, unsolicited input like this is very valuable to marketing types, and should be regarded as such, - not ignored, deflected, or avoided.
But, methinks Biower wil never fully acknowledge, hell, or even partially acknowledge, just how loved the franchise was, and how shitty the endings are.

Yeah, how dare the ex-Bioware writer not spend some of his free time gathering more substantial feedback from a random person on the street on behalf of his ... former employer.
Look, I'm not a fan of how ME3 ended, either, but at some point you just have to move on and appreciate the good moments of that game. Rest assured that the writers for the next Mass Effect most likely will have that whole debacle lingering in back of their mind (for better or for worse). That's about as much as you'll get at this point - better to accept that and leave the bitterness behind, I think; it serves no purpose at this point. Then again, I'm not your mum, so do whatever you want, I guess
Sam Hulick @samhulick Welp, I guess nobody else worked on Mass Effect 2. 👀 It's been YEARS now, and EA still can't get this corrected. Why is this so difficult? Worse yet: why do they not care enough to properly credit all artists involved? This still pisses me off.
And to be super clear: this is not Jack's doing nor his fault. It should be obvious that he has/had a good rapport with his crew and would not be ok with this.

Indeed so. This was a failure whose epicness was right on scale with the setting. I've played tons of games since then, with endings from satisfying to boring to disappointing, but none was ever of a kind again, that - as one reviewer put it back in 2013 - "poisoned even nostalgia against it". The EC endings actually are not that bad, but came too late to counter the disastrous response to the originals, and the problem with all the endings being thematically tied to the Reapers remains.
I recall quite well I was disappointed when they started to go all-out with the disgust-inducing presentation of the Reaper minions in ME2 (as opposed to the ice-cold techno-horror we got in ME1), because I thought with this kind of presentation, which signalled the Reapers and their philosophy were irredeemable, it can end only one way, and I wanted something more interesting from the story. I wanted a story for which the EC endings would've been a fitting conclusion. We didn't get that story but they attempted that kind of ending anyway, and it did not work. To this day I wonder why they attempted such a thing, being not exactly incompetent at storytelling.
