What are the requirements to receive the e-mail in Mass Effect 2 with “the findings”, given there’s more than one way to finish “Scan The Keepers / Jahleed’s Fear”? - If you finish scanning through Jahleed (Chorban scared, Jahleed persuaded to do his job legally): do you still get the e-mail in ME2? How to maximize XP and Morality Points with these two missions, AND get the e-mail in ME2 (that’s what’s most important!)? Thank you in advance!

I believe you should get an email about scanning the keepers if you complete the quest in ME1 (scan all 20/21 keepers), and allow Shepard to be "convinced" by either Chorban or Jahleed to complete the quest.
If you tell both Chorban and Jahleed to give it up, then I don't think you get the email in ME2 (since you convinced them both to quit). If you kill Chorban and get Jahleed arrested, then you will not get the email (no one to send you an email).
Generally, Chorban will send you the email. But Jahleed can send you the email instead if Chorban is dead (you talked to Jahleed first, then killed Chorban, then completed the quest for Jahleed).
Maximizing XP is by completing both quests. You may be able to get more XP by talking to Jahleed first, then fighting Chorban and his buddies (XP for kills. but not necessarily killing Chorban), then talking to Jahleed and finish scanning the keepers.
For morality, you can get some Paragon/Renegade with Charm/Intimidate options on Jahleed, but that is for convincing him to reward you for taking care of Chorban. I think you can get more renegade points in this route by killing Chorban, then using Intimidate on Jahleed. You may also get Jahleed arrested, but I cannot remember if you get Charm/Intimdate points for it, or if it occurs before/after persuading Jahleed to reward you. Killing Chorbin and getting Jahleed arrested before scanning all the keepers will mark the quest as complete and I don't think you get all the available XP for it.

Optimally, if I meet Jahleed first, fight Chorban’s thugs for the XP and scare him off, THEN convincing Jahleed to do his work legally (Paragon Points), while accepting to do the scans for him, I should be able to complete both.
But will that work, does this route grant me the e-mail in ME2? Does Jahleed send the e-mail, instead of Chorban???
I can’t remember, and since I’ve gotten rid of the 360 long ago, I can’t check my old saves. The safest route would be getting the two to make peace and continue the scans, but no Morality pts and less XP…
Help? >.<

For the record, I would not worry about XP all that much. The XP gain difference between the different outcomes is kind of small. The persuasion point gain difference is also pretty small all things considered. Your biggest sources of Charm/Intimidate are: - Kill or save the Rachni queen - Kill or save the colonists on Feros (2 points per colonists saved/killed) Just doing a bunch of the sidequests on Feros (and turning them in for the reward) will also net you Paragon points. Enough Charm/intimidate will also net you more Paragon/Renegade points if you use Charm/Intimidate options in conversations. Even without the glitch, Lorik Quin can net you a sizeable amount of Paragon/Renegade points if you Charm/intimidate him into testifying. Or you can net more Renegade by Intimdating some of the security personnel in his office, then telling Anoleis about his assistant (he kills her), then intimidating Lorik Quin into paying you more credits.

You’re right. I suppose I got a little wary with reports that XP / max levels in Legendary mode not working great and bonuses not carrying over as they should - and I wanted to make sure I was making the most out of each mission. But the gaming experience is what’s most important, and so long as I get the email for a sense of completion, I should be good. Thxs for the help!

So max level you can reach in ME1 (Legendary Edition is 57 in classic mode, which is 29 in Legendary Mode. So you cannot reach max level in the Legendary Edition, but they changed the import bonuses in ME2 (Legendary Edition) to start you at level 5 with a level 57-60 import from ME1.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

I went with: accepted the quest with Chorban, scanned them, talked to Jhaleed and made both of them to make amends, finished scanning the Keepers and got the email in ME2 expecting it opened a door in ME3 but nothing, maybe Bioware addresses it in MEN so who knows.

No consequences in ME3, it’s just the e-mail (which by ME2, Shepard would be like “Well, duh…”). So, it’s a minor thing, but I’m doing a completionist run with no stone unturned… it’s been a minute since I played the trilogy, though, I used to know all of this stuff by heart.

A minor thing which carried evidence and weight of what you warned them, honestly ME2 should have had a sub plot picking up allies and collecting evidence and witnesses like the Keeper quest guys.
