I'd say, depends. Is this ME1? Pretty sure she just meant they were reminding her to go see the council. Yes, she's playing MELE and was visiting the Citadel for the first time. She figured it out, though: So she likes it If only she'd just listened to me the first time I told her
I feel that.

I'll never forget when I first purchased the PC (standard game only) version of Mass Effect 1. It was after a complete disappointment with BIOSHOCK and wanting to try something new, branch away from the Dark FOrces games that I had been playing since 1995. I had heard rave reviews for the console version of this ground-breaking game called "MASS EFFECT", and though I knew nothing about it, I saw the PC version on the shelf and it was listed for 19.99 so I grabbed it and thought: what the hell, why not give this a try? It's only 20.00 dollars. I checked the System Requirements on the back of the box and I was well above even the Recommended Specs. At the time I was running a Quad Core 2 Extreme 9650, an ATI Radeon 1950 Rage Pro XT (which I upgraded to a GTX 570 later) and 16 GB ddr3 at 1600. My monitor resolution was 1280x1024 (upgraded from 1024x768) so I knew I had far more than I needed. The system specs are designed around a Pentium4, so yeah, I crushed it.
Then a rep from bestbuy comes along and very rudely tells me "your PC is shite. You won't be able to run this game even on the lowest settings. This game is so graphicsally advanced for the time that even 5,000 dollar custom rigs are having difficulty running it."
I completely ignored him and bought the game anyway. I got it installed and it ran flawlessly at the highest settings. I remember watching the opening scene and thinking "this isn't a game...this is a frickin' movie!" Even my mom came through the hallway and stopped in my doorway and asked "what movie is that you'r watching?"
I told her, "this isn't a movie...believe it or not it's a PC game. I grabbed it off the shelf for 20 dollars and though I would try it."
*jaw dropped, eyes widened* "That's a game?!" she asked bewildered. "Wow. It looks so real."
And from then on...I played Mass Effect and was immediately drawn into the game and the world. I have always played games that are story based and/or character driven rather than games like Medal of Honour or Call of Duty that are FPS. I play games that have a story to them and allow me to take on the role of a character like DARK FORCES did. So when I played MASS EFFECT, I was astounded by the degree of character agency, choice and interactivity. The dialogue/conversation system.....I had never seen anything like that before, but it made me feel as though I was Commander Shepard and I culd choose how to respond to NPCs. My fascination became even deeper when I discovered the 'romance aspect'....this game actually allowed you to develop relationships-- and romantic ones at that. *mind blown*. I had never before had such an experience when playing a game. After 50 hours of playing when I completed MASS EFFECT....I knew immediately that I wanted to buy the sequel and I would pay the extra money to buy the "Collector's Edition".
I have done that with all the games I have.
Now though, if I hear about a game that I thikn sounds interesting....I follow its development as closely as possible to learn as much about it as I can and be able to make an informed decision. ANTHEM is a good example. Or JEDI Fallen Order. I enjoy ANTHEM sure, I'm just disappointed that it is left in the state it is in and wasn't fully realized or delivered on everything that the Devs promised even a year into release. Fallen Order is still a fantastic game any way I look at it. I've beaten it more than a dozen times and still come back for more.
The Tomb Raider trilogy is another fantastic example. I played the first two on the 360 and thoroughly enjoyed them.....When Shadows was released and I heard it was all coming to PC, I bought the Trilogy and have enjoyed experiencing the gameplay and story on PC all over again from the start.
The same can be said for Horizon Zero Dawn. Fantasic game. Even Dragaon Age. I didn't much care for Origins....But I thoroughly enjoyed II and Inquisition even more especially with the deep story-driven DLC like Trespasser.
But all of this is thanks to Mass Effect.....and even my willingness to explore Mass Effect (and the genre of RPGs in fullness) is thanks to KNIGHTS of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Those games are what really got me into the genre of full RPGs.
But to this day, Mass Effect is for me.....right up there alongside the Dark Forces series from LucasArts (Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy). An addendum about MoTS however....though I enjoyed the story, I was grossly disappointed in the graphics. They were even worse than Jedi Knight which was amazing for the time. The graphics of MoTS were very very pixelated. Think the shapes of Minecraft characters made up of visible individual pixles. To me the visuals were a huge step backwards especially after the 3D geometry of Jedi Knight. I even remember saying aloud "this looks awful!" But I still enjoyed the story though it wasn't as good as Jedi Knight or Outcast.)
