Question: The order in which you pick the "Investigate" options in the dialogue wheel has no impact on importing, meaning picking certain dialogue options in a different order (specifically investigate) won't disrupt anything like XP or Codex entries, or import/NG+ continuity, right? I want to make sure it has no more impact than choosing a different squad for every mission each time you play. It's an odd question, but I'm trying to prove that certain things add nothing to importing the game saves. Some things aren't flagged at all, right?

No, it does not matter which order you select Investigate options. You can select Investigate options in whichever order you like.
I think the only "left-side" option that matters when/where you select it is when talking with Mouse in ME2 on Thane's loyalty mission. If you do not select the option to ask about the Shepard VI right away (you pick the Kellem option first), then that option disappears. That is the only exception I can think of. It has no bearing on any of the games, but the follow-up dialogue (ask for a copy or ask for a cut of the profits) may have Paragon/Renegade points attached to it?
I know some of the Investigate options may shift order depending on selection, but they do not give any XP Paragon/Renegade points for selecting them, although they may unlock Charm/Intimidate options when selected. The order should not matter though.

Seconded on RedCaesar97.
I'll follow up with: If the dialogue says "Investigate", you haven't made a decision.
If the left-dialogue options are just a top and bottom, they're usually either options you have to pick because you don't have enough Paragon or Renegade, or it's a rare circumstance where you have more than 3 options.
Haven't played in years, but that's how I remember it.

The order should not matter though. There is at least one investigation option during the second talk with Miranda on the Normandy that disappears if you select the other in ME2. AT least on PC. You select the bottom left option where Shepard can ask Miranda on what terms did she left her father and she answers: "shots were fired". If you choose the above option first, then that option disappears. Don't know if it's a bug or intentional. But it doesn't have any effects on Paragon/Renegade points.
