Seems strange there is no specific thread for this. Does anyone play games in the VR space i.e. Elite dangerous, Half Life Alyx, Skyrim VR etc.
Just got an Oculus quest 2 and while it is a new and interesting experience I'm finding a big issue with the screen being blurry all the time which is really distracting in games.
Wondering if this is a thing with other more expensive VR headsets?

I have a 2019 Oculus rift (not the S). I have a lot of fun with it but I end up only always playing the same games in VR (namely Beat Saber and 11 Table Tennis). I did of course play HL Alyx, Lone Echo and a whole slew of other VR games for a bit and I spent an entire weekend modding Skyrim VR to my liking but in the end, I mostly play those two games in VR.
I find that for "normal" games, VR (the whole bulk of the headset, etc.) is still too cumbersome for me. Also, since I only have one working eye, the 3D effect is lost on me. The main draw for me is the relatively free movement and the hand controls. But that's not enough to make me play "flat" games like Elite, Squadrons or Skyrim in VR, at least not o for long.
Love it for the games that were specifically created for VR though. That's why Beat Saber and Table Tennis win out so well. They have been designed for the experience, not just adopted for it. Even Alyx often feels like a port tbh. I was very disappointed that melee attacks just don't work for example.
Also tried boneworks recently. It's technically impressive with all the physics shenanigans but it's very slow going and after about 3 hours of tutorial, I had enough for the time being. Might pick it up again in a while though.

I havent got any of the native Oculus games yet, there was a boxing game I quite like the look of though. Elite dangerous seemed to be pretty good in VR but the racing sims, in particular Assetto Corsa was quite buy. Automobilista 2 was well done until I started to really notice the screen blur. Would love to try half life Alex but atm I'm not 100% sure if I will keep the quest 2 or return it and just get another monitor. The main reason I purchased it was for sim racing and the fact that my racing wheel stand is quite heavy so I didnt want to keep moving it back and forth (when I'm not in work). I'm going to give it a few more days and play around with the settings to see if I can help reduce the annoying screen blur

I guess the main question is: How much does the weight/encumbrance of the headset annoy you. For me with my fairly old one it is quite a bit (maybe the newer ones like your Q2 are already better), so i only use it for games I do play in motion.
Boxing is fun, too. You're right. I do play the VR Creed game sometimes (never saw the movie but the game doesn't really have that much to do with it as far as I can tell). Boxing sure is another one of those things that lends itself well to VR.

Headset weight hasn't bothered me at all tbh but I have a fairly large head and neck. Yeah without the blurriness the sim racing and flight/space sims give you a fairly big advantage over a conventional a single monitor or TV
