EDIT : The only reason that I'm saying that is because I've got this set as my desktop background, I'm sitting here wondering at WTF he's looking at. I'm thinking about yesterday's events, looking up at this, thinking about yesterday's events, looking up this... Boom. Then all of a sudden it hits me. He's not looking forward, he's looking backwards in order to see the damage.

Where did you get the image? I watched the 4k Video and it wasn't there.
If you increase the Gamma and reduce the Saturation a bit you'll notice it's not the nose of a ship. Sorry about that. Besides, this vault is subterranean. The space vaults have Khet and pirates... something we don't meet here and have no suitable weapons to fight them, imo

Wild speculation time : The regular engines that propel us through the galaxies get damaged by an attack of the reapers or cerberus, but not the the FTL engines. This is what makes Ryder wake up and say, "We made it." but only to learn that she's now crash landing in Andromeda. EDIT : The more and more I look at it, the more and more I'm seeing it. Look in the upper right hand corner, you'll see some vines hanging down. The red sparks are just that, from the circuit boards and such inside of the remnant vault. |

I see what you're looking at & it is possible that it cold be the nose of a ship, but then again, it could be something else entirely, so I'm going to reserve judgement at the mo.
