If there ever is a Mass Effect Movie Drew Karpyshyn openly wants to write its screenplay

It'd be neat to see him revisit the story actually.. I imagine he might integrate Cerberus and Ascension more closely too, since they were things he only expanded after the first.

The movie version would be different. Drew would never see that ending (note he hasn't even seen it yet) and then happily recreate it. He's not an amazing writer by a longshot but he would instantly recognize that the ME3 ending just doesn't work because it's a bunch of ideas that don't really stick or correlate well enough with the rest of the story in dramatic and plot causality. He could keep the ideas of it but make more sense of it or present it in a less confusing way whilist retaining the ambiguity of it, but I don't think for a second he'd just rewrite all 3 game's stories scene for scene lol. You would not see all squadmates either. They'd cut out at least half of the ME2 crew or completely alter the part of Shepard working for Cerberus so it has actual conflict and not just "hey, I guess this works, anyway, screw you TIM, now that the plot is over".

I think an ME movie would create a "canon" that BioWare has worked so hard to say doesn't exist.

Not sure if I have to be happy about this new because I'm somewhat sceptical about Drew's later Mass Effect works. I'm specifically referring to the novel retribtion, which in a way condemend us to the cringy Cerberus plot ME3 gave by inflating their scientific and espionage capabilties to unreasonable levels. Also it invalidated two major choices from the games, first who becomes the Human Councillor. Worse, however the book neutralized the Collector base decision by having Cerberus always aquire large amounts of Reaper/Collector technology and mastering it within an insane timeframe, effectively rendering the destroy option meaningless.

There are also other stories to tell in the Mass Effect Universe that doesn't involve Shepard and Ryder, and their squadmates/companions and besides I've seen and played Shepard's story over 20 times and can revisit that in the video games.

Femshep in the title role. Ashley and Miranda are the main squadmates. Samantha, Rupert Gardner, Ken and Gabby, Dr.Chakwas will have the same role. Steve will pilot the Normandy. Other squadmates will be Tela Visor, Javik, Jacob and Bray. Conrad Verner will be the LI for femshep. The liara character only shows up long enough to say Ilos.

They only do ME2 trailers which is well done. ME3 is another studio but I like the live action versions. So far only Bioware Austin use Blur Studios for all SWTOR trailers.

I've always been tempted to play, but I used to play a lot of MMOs.. I grew wary of them. I heard it's satisfying as a single player experience though.

I wonder what Drew likes more. He's probably devoted more time to Star Wars than anything else.
