Hey, so we have a lifepath poll, but I figured why not an ending questionnaire? I got all the endings recently so I wanted to ask what others thought of them or preferred about some. For those who don’t know, there’s a secret ending quest that can be unlocked if you choose the right dialogue options during “Chippin’ In”. It doesn’t actually unlock a new ending, it just allows you to charge right in through the front door of Arasaka Tower and fight your way to Mikoshi straight up instead of going with Rogue, Panam, or taking Hanako’s deal. It’s difficult, lots of max level enemies, you can’t save except for two autosave points, and dying immediately sends you to the credits where it is treated like the suicide ending. If you do succeed, you just get to choose between The Sun and Temperance Endings as if you had taken Rogue’s path. Rogue will be alive and appear in The Sun ending.
For my part, The Star was the happiest for my Judy romancing V, but The Devil endings are wonderfully bleak.

I voted for leaving Night City with the Aldecaldos, especially the full circle aspect if playing a Nomad. Honorable mention goes to the Path of Glory secret ending where you just show up at the front door. Talk about going out in a blaze of glory. LOL.

The Devil Ending, no question. It felt the most cyberpunk, let me save the most people, it was the most beautifully done, and it lets me screw over Johnny so that was nice. Specifically I did the one where I signed the contract.
Temperance is my second choice, since the part with V was both beautifully tragic yet hopeful in a way (live on in cyberspace), but it loses simply because of Johnny taking over your body and it focusing on that.
Regardless of ending though, I hope the expansion continues after the main quest with V. There are ways it can work with all the endings (barring the two confirmed death ones).

I have a theory about either the expansion or the prologue of a sequel effectively railroading V into becoming an engram, then getting forcibly loaded into a new body at the character creator of a sequel to be the pawn of some conspiracy (breaking free from that situation being a main plot of the sequel)
Partly because I’d like to push this series further down the path of transhumanism.
V already becomes an engram in every ending if they don’t die, save for rejecting the deal in The Devil ending.

(Don't Fear) The Reaper and then leading to the Sun for me.
My V can kill her way to Mikoshi by herself. She doesn't need Rouge, Hanako, or the Aldecaldos.
"The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long." That's my kind of cyberpunk.

Only finished the game once - V ended up on a space station being experimented on. I remember the doctor was a first class bitch. Other than that...I got nothing. I don't even know what ending that is out of the poll options.

"The light that burns twice as bright burns for half as long." That's my kind of cyberpunk. I've the same thought. V gets into Mikoshi alone and leaves with the nomads. V wouldn't want to become a "legend" or as Jackie often said, in the major leagues. It's this goal that killed her friends, why stay in NC? Too bad the end paths are all one way, no crossing over. Anyway, I always picked leaving with the nomads. The other choices aren't my cup of tea.

I just finished the game a few days ago and ended up with the star ending. Played a corp so joining up with a family was fitting since V came from a culture of backstabbing and betrayal. Plus Judy joined along. It's optimistic and clearly leaves the possibility of V finding a cure. In fact, most endings could be tweaked to simply bring V back, whether it's in another body or just herself. I have a lot of questions, like why does she still have 6 months left? Why is a cure out of the question when Johnny has been purged? I kinda rushed things at the end so I need to replay some other scenarios.

The reason V has only six months left is because the chip changed too much of them. Removing it and Johnny stopped it from continuing to get worse, but by that time it was too late and the damage couldn’t be undone.

Why is a cure out of the question when Johnny has been purged? I kinda rushed things at the end so I need to replay some other scenarios. Basically the technology of the Biochip has been rewriting V’s neural pathways and nervous system to suit Johnny. Because of this, V’s own body is becoming more and more incompatible with V’s consciousness but more compatible with Johnny. So there’s a choice at the end, if V returns to their body it’s only a matter of time before their nervous system breaks down or some unknown cure materializes. If V goes with Alt, Johnny can live out a full life because the body is more compatible with him now. The science is probably a bit wonky, but that’s the gist.

None of them. They are just a cheap mess that don't reflect player choice well.

The Aldecado's was an obvious choice for me the first time. It was quite fitting given my V started as the Corpo pig who hated his life with terrible health issues and loathing everyone around him and then transition into an ending like that.
The Devil ending is more genre appropriate, but thankfully it's an RPG. Honestly, the Suicide ending is also good for it's own reasons. You don't endanger anyone else if that is your priority, and you finally end your physical suffering. It's also somewhat genre appropriate. The only "bad" part about that one is having to sit through the messages afterwards, hearing all your friends in pain and agony, being mad at you for a selfish decision.
