roguetrader.owlcat.games/news/en/10The terrible tread of gigantic Titans, the scream of drop pods entering the atmosphere – these are the sounds that make the hearts of heretics tremble. So too does prayer – the holy battle prayer of the Adepta Sororitas. Also known as the Sisters of Battle, these fierce and devoted women make up the militant arm of the Ecclesiarchy, the state church of the Imperium of Man.
The orphaned daughter of Imperial Guard officers, the child that would become Sister Argenta received harsh training in the Schola Progenium – the crucible of the Imperial military elite. Only one memory survived from before the ordeal of training – or was it merely a dream? In this vision, the girl saw grey ship hulls and dirty military camps, dank trenches, faceless people in Astra Militarum uniforms, the roar of a counterattack, the crescendo of her mother's heart-rending cry, broken by an ominous silence... and the golden Aquila lying among the ashes, so immaculate, so alien in this gloomy and bleak environment. The symbol of the God-Emperor of Mankind.
Somewhere in the malicious oceans of the warp, the Emperor was fighting the ruinous powers of Chaos. For the young orphan, He became a semantic constant, an object of worship, an impeccable role model, the reason she had survived hell. Guided by this shining symbol, sure that she had been chosen for some great, as yet unknown, purpose, the girl proved herself time and time again in the Schola and ascended to the ranks of the Adepta Sororitas. Her birth name was forgotten, replaced by a new one – Argenta, the name of a local saint worshipped in the Calixis Sector and the Koronus Expanse. A long and crooked path then led her to Footfall, where she was to join a small mission of her order to guard a holy reliquary.
It seems that Argenta lives and breathes for one purpose – to achieve perfection worthy of the Emperor's most faithful warriors. She is unstoppable, audacious – sometimes too audacious. The battlefield is her temple, and bolter rounds are the words of her fervent prayer. When she rushes into battle, the ship's bulkheads reverberate with the passion of her prayers, and her allies feel the surge of power.
But what led the young sister away from her duties as a guardian of the reliquary? Was it a holy epiphany or a fall from grace? This remains a tightly held secret…

Azata and Trickster are option when you are true neutral? Both are " chaos all the time, any time!". It's just that one is going for cute and the other is full on mischief. How does that fit with true neutral. And it's not like True Neutral lacks Mystic Path access, only one is locked away from them. And now that I looked into that, I kind of want to play a roguish character instead of a Paladin/Angel. My last time with the game I made it to Chapter 3 and selected Azata, but my character was a Warpriest, not a roguish character. Lich always sounded cool too, but I have issues playing evil. Same thing with Aeon, full lawful is...boring. The Mythic Paths seem to follow the "one step" rule for alignments. ie: you can be within one step of its "designated alignment" Trickster is Chaotic Neutral, so the alignments you can play for that should be Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Good, Chaotic Evil, and True Neutral (I can confirm Chaotic Good) Azata is Chaotic Good, So you could play it as Chaotic Good, Neutral Good, or Chaotic Neutral I've thought about playing a bard with Azata, but thinking maybe a more martial type might be fun, a fighter or cavalier maybe. I'm currently playing a Lich, and I've managed to stay True Neutral, though drifting towards evil. Gendarme Azata was great. I'm going to redo that playthrough since I learned to not be lazy about buffing before combat.

So how many people here have dabbled in the Warhammer 40K tabletop game? My brothers and I have gotten a bit... excessive over the past year and a half. Between all of us we have armies for: Chaos Space Marines (Word Bearers), Death Guard, Thousand Sons, Space Marines (Black Dragons), Adeptus Mechanicus, Grey Knights, Adeptus Custodes, Astra Militarum (Vostroyan Firstborn), Orkz, Tau, Aeldari, Drukari, Tyranids, Necrons, Genestealer Cults, Imperial Knights and, most recently, Leagues of Votann. All armies are at least 1,000 points with several nearing 4,000 points in value. I shudder to think at how much money we have spent on all this plastic crack Needless to say 40K is definitely my all time favorite science-fantasy setting.

So how many people here have dabbled in the Warhammer 40K tabletop game? Where would I find the money to buy miniatures? Or the space to put them? Or the time to paint them? Or people to actually play the game with? For me, at least, this is very much the case where the hobby isn't worth the investment.

Wrath of the Righteous must have sold well. Kingmaker didn't get a second season:

Ya besides certain puzzles being annoying i think WotR was generally well recieved. And I think they may have considered doing more for Kingmaker but they lost their license/rights/ownership for it and couldn't even finish patching it.

I know this is not an Owlcat title, but if anyone was curious about the feel of 40K and at how even their FTL methods can be dangerous here's a little trailer from Fatshark's Darktide.

Looks promising but we'll see. I wasn't taken with Pathfinder, could never really get into it and Wrath of the Righteous just doesn't appeal.

roguetrader.owlcat.games/news/en/12YRLIET LANAEVYSS: WANDERER AMONG THE STARSMany centuries ago, on its quest to conquer the stars, Mankind escaped the bounds of the Solar System to spread across the galaxy and bring the Emperor's word and will to its darkest reaches. But humans weren't the only ones to have found a home among the void. They encountered a multitude of alien races: villainous, enigmatic, and monstrous threats, all of which threatened Mankind’s survival. "Xenos" was the term used to describe these enemies of humanity, and the Imperium's deadly struggle against them has continued to this day, with no end in sight.
Loyal servants of the Emperor are prohibited from conducting any manner of business with aliens or their foul technologies, as the vigilant Inquisitors of the Ordo Xenos mercilessly stamp out heresy in all its forms. And even the basest of Underhive rabble have been taught since the day they were born that the alien is to be eliminated on sight. However, every rule has its exceptions. Rogue Traders are among the few servants of the Emperor who are permitted to interact with xenos, do business with them, and even tolerate aliens as part of their crew so that they may be used for the Imperium’s benefit. Yrliet Lanaevyss may be about to become one such xenos.
Yrliet is a proud Aeldari whose ancestors made journeying through the star-studded darkness their eternal calling. The children of Asuryan spend their long lives walking different Paths and perfecting their understanding of their own special calling, so that they may better fulfill their role in Aeldari society. Yrliet had been living on her planet-sized spaceship, known as a craftworld, for decades: long enough for her to grow restless and decide that her new Path was to take her to faraway and unfamiliar places. Having chosen to walk the Path of the Outcast, Yrliet left the enormous craftworld that her kin called home. She sought to blaze her own trail in a universe that would otherwise lie beyond the reach of Aeldari society, and she followed that desire to distant stars. However, new insights and experiences sometimes come at great cost – as Yrliet is about to discover.
As the darkest hour comes, Yrliet's and the Rogue Trader's paths cross and intertwine – and only the God-Emperor knows what this meeting of a xenos and a human will lead to.
