I'm thinking of getting Inquisition for my PC now that it has been upgraded and Inquisition is on sale. Can anyone recommend mods as well as how to install mods for dummies... ] Thanks

Really depends on the type of mods you're looking for...
however, to recommend a few that I like to use: War Table - No Waiting (reduces the time on war table missions to 0 aka. instant completion, giving you more time to do other things) Immersive starting armors (replaces the armor worn by the Inquisitor in the prologue to one more fitting of their background (even if...you know, the Inquisitor is technically supposed to be undercover ) Skintone fixes (fixes mismatching skin tones for Solas and Sera (and player characters as well) when they wear armor that has upgradable pieces) New Painted Portraits (adds/changes the portraits for the party members, also includes several for each of the races (though no dwarves as of yet)
As for installing mods...depends whether you want to use DA Modder or Frosty Mod Manager, both have different ways of installing mods however with some modifications you can use both mod managers alongside one another, a tutorial to do so can be found here > link

thanks so much
anything with character creators, armour and weapons would be of interest
also - which, if any, mod installer is easier to use

thanks so much anything with character creators, armour and weapons would be of interest also - which, if any, mod installer is easier to use I personally find DA Modder easier to use and it has a lot more mods (Frosty came later, but has since been gaining quite a bit of mods as well)
for DA Modder you just plop your mods in a folder and run the program to create a patch, it's quite easy to use (at least imo.)
Also for hairstyles I should note that in this game you can't add hairstyles, only replace them...and only one of each hair per race. For example if you want a hairstyle that replaces the bun for human females you can do so and it'll only replace it for human females and no one else, but you can't add two hairstyles that replace the bun for the human female since they'd conflict.
as for a few character creation mods...depends on the race you wish to play: biggest recommendation (and imo. a must have) Modded hair in DLC's (as it says on the tin, it prevents the game from crashing if you use modded hairs in for example Trespasser) SK Hair Pack has quite a few hairstyles for all of the races and genders (including Qunari) Mini Qunari Hair Pack by the same modder as the one above, this time specifically with hairs aimed at Qunari characters Hair Re-texture gives a different texture to the hairs found in the game, I use the 2K Smooth version with Trespasser compatibility (called Smooth Version 1.2 Light on the mod page) Assorted Hairstyles From the mod I use the lower buns and the pixie-cut (male Hawke hair (for both genders) ones
Also a few for companions/advisors that I like to use Blackwall (changes his hairstyle, beard and a part of his complexion to make it seem he's graying like in his concept art (compatible in all the dlc's) Sera (gives her a slightly different hairstyle without changing her too much, also includes an option to give her the hairstyle used by Morrigan (but that one's for Frosty mod manager only) Leliana (makes her looks slightly older, since she still looks as young as she did in DAO/DA2, which only makes sense in one of her specific scenarios (I won't spoil that one unless you already know what I mean (has a version that works in Trespasser as well) Morrigan (changes her main outfit to one that looks warmer for her stay at Skyhold (it's in the mountains after all)
I also recommend just browsing the Nexus mods site, it has quite a lot of mods that are worth checking out

I am just starting a new PT as a Mage have never in 1,500+ hours played as a mage. These are the MODS I am using, I am using Frosty Mod Manager as I use it for MEA. Started twice already as a male elf mage, I like the 25% ranged defence bonus but the ears on the elves are just ridiculous think I am going to start again as a human male mage, plus I forgot to import a world state. It's only been a few years since I played and it seems I have forgotten a lot!!!! Anyway here's an image of my soon to be rejected character unless someone can tell me of a MOD that reduces Elven Ear Size. Thanks to Unicephalon 40-D for pointing me to this thread.

Thanks just installed the Infinite Crafting materials, hope it wont clash with the Redcliffe and Crossroads store MODS I have installed. will have a look at the Schematics spree one a bit later. Looked at the cheaters one, I have played multiple times as well but not for a while so can cheese the game enough as it is with some farming of materials and or buying them but still need some challenge to make the game interesting. Playing as a male and couldn't find any MODS that I cared enough about to install, if only their was one that down sized Elf ears. Going to restart today as a human the ears are bothering me too much. Is there a "What did you do in DA today" thread? I couldn't find it but there are so many pages in the general discussion threads.

So I downloaded DAI mod manager and I am unable to open it. I get the following error message: an error occurred while getting the Project list.
Does anyone have a work around for this?
I was able to get the Frosty Mod manager to work, but only got one additional hairstyle despite downloading many. I assume the other ones will work but...cant be sure. There are much more mods that work with the DAIMOD version so I wish I could get it to work!

Re Frosty I am using that now and the annoying thing is the MOD creators often do not spell out whether they are exclusive to one or another, either DA Mod Manager or FMM. The only way I have found is o extract them and then only install for FMM if the file type is DAIMOD not FBMOD. So unfortunately it's a bit trial and error. Not sure but sometimes if you have too many of the same type of MOD it will make them clash and not work says the me who has very little technical knowledge of such things.

I'm having a ton of trouble. The one hairstyle I was able to download appears semi-bald half the time. 🤪 so I deleted everything and will reinstall tomorrow. Does anyone know how to rotate my inquisitor in the character creator? With a console you can rotate and see a side view of nose, chin, and jaw, but I can't figure how to do that on the PC . Also, any tips on how to get the game to recognize my controller (using a PS4 controller), Thanks 😊

To rotate your Inquisitor use RMB IIRC. I am not using any hair etc. mods but maybe just try using the one MOD you want and have nothing else loaded and see if it is still a problem. Usually in the description for the MODS it will say if they conflict with other MODS or maybe it needs another MOD did you read the description/Install info. I often forget to.

Mine didn't work as well. But I found place where they have it uploaded as well and mm from there works for me: www.tapatalk.com/groups/daitools/latest-version-announcement-t1068.html

Mostl ybecause it fits the kind of character OI'd expec tmy female Inquisitors to be.
