I'm returning to Inquisition after playing as a mage years ago. Trying nightmare with a DW Rogue, around level 7. Going pretty well so far, but I'm kind of conflicted about the best party composition. I've been using Cass/Blackwall for tanking, and Solas for support. Can't decide whether Sera/Varrick makes a good 4th, or if I should bring some elemental damage with Vivienne. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have any Specializations unlocked yet.
Thanks!

I don't think it matters much before you have specializations unlocked, but once you do:
Varric is great to bring when you're playing a rogue thanks to his passive bonus to party critical hit % (in his spec tree). Blackwall is slightly better as a pure tank damage-sponge than Cass (thanks to Champion spec) but she has some nice combo abilities and passive boosts for the party thanks to her Templar spec. Vivienne is an unkillable super tank once you get her KE spec, but Solas has better banter and Dorian seems to have better combo abilities thanks to his necro spec.

I'm finding that I need to have party members who can be left on their own for the most part (unless it's a really tough fight, and I micromanage) because I have to stay pretty engaged in the combat myself. Sometimes I set my character to "move to spot" for repositioning, which would be when I might take over a mage, but otherwise, I have to steer the ship myself.
Does Cassandra help more with Rifts, since she has the Templar abilities for dispelling?

Does Cassandra help more with Rifts, since she has the Templar abilities for dispelling? One way to help with that is tinker with squadmates "Tactics": you can disable certain abilities/powers, prioritize others, set when and if they use health potions, and so on. Helps with the micro-managing a bit, although the AI is always going to do stupid stuff sometimes. And Cassandra is very helpful with rifts (and/or on quests that have lots of demons) once you have the Templar spec unlocked.
