I enjoyed "Game of Thrones". I am enjoying "Stranger Things" and "House of the Dragon". I am excited for the "Rings of Power". I tried watching Apple TV's "Foundation" but lost interest in it. I enjoyed "The Orville" but desire space adventure with CGI better than The Orville's and more creative alien designs. The "Halo" TV show was dragged out and cliched. We are living in the 21st Century. With today's CGI we shouldn't be going back to Star Trek style rubber suited aliens. I am having a blast reading Adrian Tchaikovsky's "Shards of Earth" and it hits the same notes ME1 and Leviathan Wakes did. In an ideal world all the streaming services would have there own high quality space opera. In that world HBO's Adrian Tchaikovsky's series would be competing with Amazon's Mass Effect show! With things are nowadays is society too cynical to dream of a future in space? Are today's TV show producers not inspired by space exploration? Has advancements in space travel and exploration been too slow? Is there not enough good actors, actresses, directors, and producers? Does arts education need to become better in America?

Well, I mean, there are quite a few space operas out there at the moment. Certainly more than we had in the 2010s, that's for sure.
Amazon just finished up The Expanse early this year (and I am still holding out ope that someone will eventually make either direct to stream movies or more seasons out of the last 3 books).
Apple TV has Foundation (not to mention For All Mankind, which may not exactly be a space opera but it's close).
Paramount is coming out with tons of new Star Trek stuff. I don't think there has ever been as much Trek produced as there is at the moment. They also did Halo not so long ago. Whether you like those shows or not, they are all space operas.
Disney's space franchise is obviously Star Wars these days and they are putting out 1 or 2 shows each year.
Not sure what Netflix and HBO are doing, I don't follow them as much but all in all, while I think there can always be more space opera, it's not the worst time for the genre at the moment.
