cainaghis vid 'acolyte flamer GT on repa giant) was the good way for me. But it took many tries. Now that i m used to plat solos, the kroguards feels far easier (almost cant dye if u avoid sync kills), but maybe not for a first ? I used the Kro guard for my gold solos. What weapon do you use for him reegar? Retard for speed, but be sure to stagger phantoms with charge. Or venom to be sure

Giant easiest map for Plat solo, also pretty slow so that may be a plus or a minus for you. Caine's video shows the flow of the map, and it has good win corners that have mostly trustworthy soft cover. Kreeguard is how I popped my cherry, and came closest to 20min. Flamer Trooper is very easy if you are comfortable with Acolyte and like toasting things. TGI is another popular choice, very boring to me but it is a capable kit. Reapers are the "slowest" faction, so I would choose them as an opponent. So, Giant Reapers Platinum is what I recommend. Also strong liquor.
ETA - congratulations DoctorDAM, your service to the galactic community is appreciated!

The one thing I have not accomplished is platinum solo, not sure if i can do it at this point. What is the commonly felt easiest set up for this? As in map, opponent, class and strategy? Solid advice given by everyone else already. Remember, surviving 11 waves is priority number one. This isn't a speed run. Choose a setup you feel is most likely to get you back on the shuttle. Giant and White are the best map options. Both maps provide cover/RHA just about everywhere without you having to traverse open space when/if you need to retreat. A couple of thing needs to be added though: Soloing is a different beast, requiring patience and a somewhat stable mental health . Both will most likely be put to the test but a failure doesn't mean it's impossible. It just means more grinding. If the satisfaction of succes is worth the grind, go for it.

I cannot emphasize enough what larsdt has said regarding state of mind before entering a solo. If you are jittery, had too much coffee, not enough sleep, are distracted, or have just failed an attempt and are pissed about the manner of failure - stop. Play a PuG, play something else, or GOD FORBID go outside for a little bit Do not be fixated on "goals". The only goal is getting out of there alive. I had dozens of fast wave 9/10/11 failures before succeeding, because my goal was always speed and not survival. My goals got me killed, please learn from this epitaph.

I know White pretty well and use it for many of my low end solos, only problem with it is if you get devices, you can be totally screwed on a smaller map. I'll have to practice with the venom but i agree with the staggering bit. The classes I play the best just do not seem totally suited for high level solos. I think your recommend of watching some youtubes is a fine idea. So, my two cents: Giant is probably the easiest map for a first plat solo, but as others have noted it also takes quite a bit longer than other maps, which can be its own kind of difficulty: takes more stamina and concentration to complete a solo that takes, say, an hour, vs one that takes 30-45 mins. Plus, Giant is a real pain for grenade kits thanks to the single grenade ammo boxes and how big the map is. So, if you're familiar with White, I'd actually recommend starting with White. Especially if you plan on playing a grenade kit. And on that note, I'd recommend considering a grenade kit, because grenades are OP and so are several of the kits that use them: the BatSol, Krogan Soldier, QME, VorchaSent, Drellgod/Drelldept, etc. all dominate on White. Batarian and Krogan soldiers are less squishy, but also less mobile, while the QME, Vorcha, or Drell kits are squishy but highly mobile. So that's sort of a personal style/preference question. Other beginner-friendly kits for Plat solos are the AIU and the TGI (probably the two most EZ-mode kits in the game), Flamer GTS, the Valkyrie, or really any Infiltrator (DI and GI probably the best of the group). The Krogan and Batarian Vanguards can be fairly EZ-mode, but you obviously have to be EXTREMELY careful and judicious about Biotic Charging with so many sync-kill enemies on Plat. Destroyer is also a solid kit, with awesome DPS and good survivability, but also quite immobile with no dodge (assuming you're using DM) and a slow sprint. So that covers maps and kits, the last piece is choice of weaponry: obviously the best weapon for plat solos is the Venom, but I know not everyone enjoys or is as good with it, so the Hurricane/Acolyte combo is a good substitute if you don't mind switching weapons. Can also do Hurricane/Scorpion, if you prefer the Scorpion to the Acolyte as your anti-Phantom gun. But whatever your loadout, you DO need a plan for dealing with Phantoms- a good way to practice for a plat solo is to do Gold Cerberus solos, so you get used to dealing with Phantoms on a higher difficulty solo. And if your aim is good, the BW or Javelin is also perfectly viable on Plat. You want a weapon that is not only effective, but that you're comfortable with (and, ideally, one you enjoy, since this is a game and the purpose is ultimately to have fun). And then, of course, there is the Reegar: it sucks to use, but its effectiveness is undeniable. But you have to weigh the pros/cons of having such a short range weapon (and with its weight, you probably can't have a secondary unless you're playing a kit/build that doesn't care about cooldowns, like an Infiltrator). It synergizes particularly well with Vanguards, the AIU, or the Valkyrie. And watching videos of other plat solos is invaluable and always a good idea- if you can, find videos of people soloing the map/faction you intend to solo yourself, and ideally with a similar kit/build/loadout as well. Pay particular attention to how they move about the map, where the RHA spots, chokepoints, and spawns are, and how they deal with objectives.

(I would advise against the Jugg for a first plat solo, since he's actually quite tricky/difficult to play in plat solos compared to team games or lower difficulty solos)

Pay particular attention to how they move about the map, where the RHA spots, chokepoints, and spawns are, and how they deal with objectives. Another good idea is to do a Gold solo of the map/faction and with the same kit/build/weapon you intend to use for a Plat solo; so if you're thinking of trying Plat/Cerberus/White with e.g. Venom Valkyrie, do a few Gold/Cerb/White solos with that kit and weapon. One of the most important things for plat solos is having an intuitive sense of where the spawns are and which directions the enemies are coming from, and those tend to be more or less the same on Gold as on Plat. I probably did half a hundred Gold solos before trying my first Plat solo, and I think that really helped flatten the learning curve for me when I finally got up the courage to try a Plat solo.

Yeah I'll admit that I did quite few Geth/Glacier/Gold solos with the Kroguard in my early soloing days... gotta start somewhere, after all! (I'll also admit that, shamefully, I used the Reegar quite a bit in those early days- Reegar AIU, Reegar Kroguard, Reegar Jugg, etc)

I agree with White, although I think Giant is a little easier in some ways. Overall, the win corners of White are the best for me. Top of stairs or behind the big box/corner down below, as long as you are paying attention to not getting flanked, you can get them to come to you until you feel overwhelmed, then just run to the other spot away from where the main rush is coming. For me, this usually results in a big circle, so my Plat White solos can be viewed as laps on a shitty race track with a barely competent driver. A decently fast one, but that's where the good stops. Anyways, big circles on White, easiest map method IMO. Edit
This is a very basic rendering of how I solo White. The blue numbers describe the approximate places where I either anchor down and fight, or are the flight path from trouble. I will enumerate them. Position 1 - Where you start your solo. You want your character to be able to see the landing pad, which will hopefully prevent them spawning there and force spawns on the lower half of the map. When you see "Wave 1" on the screen, that is your time to move to position 2. You can go to position 2 down either stairway, kind of a gut feeling thing there but it doesn't matter much. I generally keep to the lap theme, and go down the stairs closer to the ladder to the left of position 1 in the picture.
Position 2 - Primary wincorner/anchor position. This is where you want to spend most of the solo. If you are killing quickly as you should, the spawns will keep coming from the same area, and you can spend entire waves here if you are better than me. Lots of people are, so that is an achievable goal. Even if you can't be better than me, this method has worked for far bigger scrubs. When you get overrun, or have not been paying attention and got flanked from the enemy coming from position 3, it is time to run. Even if you have been flanked from behind, go to position 3 and be ready to use an Ops pack. Position 3 - This is a corner, but you are vulnerable from the landing pad. If you have just run into a spawn, turn right and jump at the ladder point that I didn't mark but is near position 1. Proceed directly to position 6, this is a shortcut from my usual route but can be the smart decision depending on enemy position at the time. Position 4 - Another corner with too much vulnerability, but it can give you a breather and see your path to position 5. If you can get an easy kill before running, on something coming from position 3 here, take it and then go don't get greedy. Position 5 - Good players stop before dropping down the ladder, after seeing that there isn't a spawn down there waiting to buttsex you. This can be a decent corner, but I get scared here easily and generally just proceed to position 6 Position 6 - Secondary wincorner/anchor. You can spend waves here as well if you are situationally aware and have a good trigger finger. If it gets too hairy from enemy coming from position 5, retreat to position 7 Position 7 - End of the line, tertiary wincorner/anchor. Is nearly the same as position 6, but has less vulnerability from position 5 while being more vulnerable to flanking from the back stairs. When overrun at position 6/7, you may be able to retreat slightly to position 8 or 9 and turn and fight again. If not, head up the back stairs back to position 2. Rinse and repeat.
Position 8 - Muah corner. Better players murder from here. Me, I use it, but it is often a brief stop. Not very good without Geth Scanner and Drill ammo. Position 9 - Primarily used when an objective ends near here, in the weird double walkway area in the upper-left corner of the pictured map. The way you get to these points is usually mostly a straight line, but spawns are not always well-behaved and you may need to tweak your route, but by doing these circles and fighting as often as you can for as long as you can at them, the enemy is drawn to you and follows your path. It is exactly Pied Piper. All credit goes to RonPepperMD for the map art. I just put on the blue numbers. This is my poor mans guide to soloing White. The better soloers are of course welcome to add/correct points, and I will be happy to amend the post or just ragequit the forums in tears. Edit 2 - I will need to amend this anyway, need to add another corner that better players use a lot, and that I also use fairly often and just forgot about. It is on the other side of the cargo container at position 7, above it on the picture between the containers. That would be Position 8. Then there is 9, often used mopping up a wave where you had an objective that ended in that stupid area in the upper left corner of this picture. 9 would be behind the grab rail near the ammo box, because everything at that point is coming to you diagonally and rarely coming on a path that takes them past positions 6 and 7.
If I had any sort of skills with photo editing, I would make this better with cool animations and stuff. Here is the ball, run with it!
Edit 99 - Top of back stairs is another place to stop and fight, if running from position 8/9 area. Then can retreat to the stairway hallway, then back to 2. The idea, that I have learned, is that you want to kill at every opportunity you can, and stop and face the enemy. You can't live doing this unless you choose tactically sound positions, and these are those.

Excellent tips, i do play white a lot so I am comfortable with that map. Though on lower levels i usually just camp at position two and deal with it that way but a 2nd or third spot will be essential for sure. Thanks for the work.

Position 6 will help you alot. The real game is getting to positions 2 and 6 safely, and just killing from there. That would have been a much shorter post

So from position 6 you are battling spawns coming from up top and the landing zone i take it?

You are welcome, I enjoyed doing it.
Position 6 will help you alot. The real game is getting to positions 2 and 6 safely, and just killing from there. That would have been a much shorter post
So from position 6 you are battling spawns coming from up top and the landing zone i take it? Yes. If you start up top, generally the initial spawns will come from near positions 8/9, and the other near position 5. Sometimes inside the room right at the bottom of the stairs. When you start on Wave 1 at position 1, running to position 2, if they spawn at the bottom of the stairs you will have a firefight immediately. This is desirable, do as you have done in the past, kill as long as you feel safe, and then your goal is to patiently but carefully force them to chase you to position 6 with a route that funnels them in mostly a straight line.
The enemy is only a little smart. They will follow your path where they saw you last, but once you start shooting from your new position they communicate instantly and adjust. This means most of your enemy will follow you from 2 to 3, then down to 4 and so on, but if you have been leading them slowly enough so that you kill some of them as they chase, they just keep jumping in the conga line and follow. So, your real goal is to always keep all 8 enemies close to each other on the map and following you. This gets screwed up sometimes by lolbehindyou spawns, but this "approach" to the map is much older than my description, not my invention I'm not that smart, and helps avoid getting hosed by those random acts of cruelty by the game devs
So, in the ideal case, you get them to chase you from 2 to 3, stick at 3 if they aren't flanking you. They will usually try to flank coming up the ladder in front of the main stairs near 1 and down that walkway, but sometimes you have to deal with a nasty landing pad spawn and may want to change course. Those jerks from the landing pad will follow you to 6, as will the jerks that were already chasing you to 3. Hold the line as you can, rinse and repeat. The path isn't always a circle, but it is helpful thinking of those two points (2 and 6) as your home where you want to live, and it's nice to go home and be alone for a moment to collect your wits, and see your enemy coming and get a couple easy kills at least before having to duck and run again to your other home.
If you watch my gold and platinum solos on White, you will see I often literally sprint like a bat out of hell from 2 to 6, sometimes having to eat a couple Ops Packs because lol they spawned in my path. Oh well, I gotta get to my safe place asap. It gives you a good actual respite from pressure getting to either place, with precious seconds that seem longer thanks to the relative safety for a moment. I take the path of least resistance getting between the two, just remembering to keep them on my path.
Eta:
This is not a great solo, but it is a successful one. It will show the path, and how a scrub could manage it.
Edit2: The above is a horrible example lmao. This is one of my first successful solos, probably my second iirc. This one is a better example -
~snip~
Worse example, that was a speedrun.
This is a classic example I think. And very scrubby. I have gobs of time to think, feel like I'm not panicked, etc. Make lots of mistakes too, but it was a pretty easy solo really (Narrator: It was NOT an easy solo). Start at wave 5 to see the path used over and over, earlier waves I got a little flashy (and still managed to be incredibly slow, omg)
Fast forward to Wave 11 of either to see this in Benny Hill fashion.

I don't like position 6, cause I m often punished by goons hunters and phantoms coming from 5 maybe I m just not trying enough. But feels retreat from 7 is anyway easier even if attacked from behind? Or maybe it s because you can easily check your left and the respawning there. I try to solo without GS too, so that changes awareness to what s inside. Also making 8 something I don't consider. 2-3 is the only spot I really try to hold, then I stop a lot at 4 and 7. Sometimes up the ladder if brute or banshees or down it, but just for few seconds . I have to watch muah using 8. Also coming back and forth between 2 and 3 if possible

I have to watch muah using 8. Also coming back and forth between 2 and 3 if possible His DAI solo, he abuses the shit out of 8. Between Recon Mine and Crusader/Wraith Drill, you shall not pass! He gets into the corner and shoots through the wall, and since they know where he is they keep coming to go through that archway and get plugged in the head as they cross his LoS before they get there. I have been unable to reproduce this very well, even with GI. This is my skill limit. Muah at 2 and 8 digs into the corner physically, and seems to shoot through the corner itself. There is some magical fuckery about being in that space, as I have been able to reproduce some of the magic in his solos and see that indeed he is a master. When in that corner correctly, you must be aware of Praetorians grabbing you through the corner (cheating fucks), but pretty much any other enemy just gets confused and their AI bogs down. Banshees will stop their jumping oddly because of your position there (this happened in my Trooper solo a couple times if you care to watch), Phantoms and Goons get dumb, etc. Hunters too, which is a real bonus for me in Plat solos. Ok, enough blabbering about what other people do. Give it a shot, see what you like.
