As the topic states how does the game compare to the first two. I am a fan of the first two games, and I have played a bit of Inquisition when the game first released. I remember I spent 10 hours in the Hinterlands, and one of my goals was to romance Cassandra, oh and save Thedas from the Rift. I remember I chose a big Quarian male who wielded a big two handed great axe.
Anyway I eventually plan to go through the trilogy as whole. So what do you think is it worth it or a waste of time?

For me personally I find Inquisition is m yfavourite of the 3. I pretty much enjoy everything about it. As I'm kind of alternatin gbetween it and Sla ythe Spire whilst waiting for Gotham Knights atm.

Vote: Inquisition is a good game. I am a huge fan of the first two Dragon Age games (played both billion times and still play): dialogues, atmosphere, tactics, characters, choices, outcomes and many other things. Inquisition for me is not really a dragon age game as almost everything what made the first two games Dragon Age, Inquisition lacks. Many things are removed. But Inquisition on its own, even if it is not really a DA game, is a good game. Great characters, VA, a good written villain. Though now, after many PTs, I still play DAI for one purpose: try different builds, teams, combinations etc. But play it not for dialogues, choices and tactics. ------ It is worth playing? Imo- yes, it is. DA Keep can help a bit to make the game more interesting in terms of choices. Personal opinion: to play DAI for choices/dialogues/outcomes/tactics/combat - there is almost nothing like that as the first two game cover these things. Whom how of course. But DAI is still a good game and not waste of time. There are still some things reminding the first two games, the fan of which you, talyn82, remain.

Easily the best of the franchise. Everything good about the first two games, this one does better as well as having things those games don’t.

I’m torn. I voted ‘good’, because the order for me is Origins, Inquisition, 2…but that doesn’t really do justice to a game where I rolled from 1st to 2nd to 3rd PTs without a pause. Literally creating a new character after completing the game each time.
It is very different in play style to the first two, and there is an unhappy - in my opinion - attempt to provide both action and tactical pause and play combat. The characters are great, it is - still, 8 years later - a beautiful game and some of the music is incredible.
The story works fine for me, and it does a lot of heavy lifting in terms of fleshing out Thedas.
If I were to offer two criticisms they would be redundant, almost embarrassing side quests (take flowers there, bring a ring back here) and to borrow a line from TotalBiscuit (may he Rest In Peace) - I wish they’d made half the number of areas and spent twice as long on each of them.

Beyond graphics and gameplay, the three games are more or less the same. It all comes down to which aspect matters the most to you: Area design, combat, story, etc.

There are certain things to consider; such as compared to DAII....Inquisition was an actually finished game that got to go through the editing process.
For all intents and purposes, it might be more accurate to call DAII a prototype of what the game was supposed to be than the actual finished product.
I certainly enjoyed aspects of it but I think we all know about its flaws as well.

For me it is better than DA2 but not quite as good as origins. I would say that is the general consensus of DAI. That said I tend to play DAI the most of the bunch. I would love it if the older games got the MELE treatment with remaster. When it is at it's best DAI is about as good as anything bioware has made but I miss the more linear pacing that origins had and the darker atmosphere it had.

I had initially rented Origins, and kept it long enough to pay nearly the full cost of the game in late fees when I eventually returned it. I then immediately went and bought it at full price. That should tell you everything you need to know about my opinion of it.
I pre-ordered DA2, and while I found it disappointing, I still liked some of the characters enough to give it several full playthroughs.
I had to be talked into purchasing the game of the year version of Inquisition, while it was on sale for $10. I have only one completed playthrough and no real desire to play it again. So it's a mediocre game for me.

I voted "mediocre".
It had adorable characters and great voice acting, but awful combat and terrible side content.

I really like DAI. I still play it, 8 years later. I'd put it ahead of DA2 and roughly on-par with DAO, although DAO and DAI are pretty different and have different strengths/weaknesses.
