I'm embarking on my third proper playthrough. I have a limited understanding of companion affinity, and have mostly just save/loaded to make sure I keep everyone happy enough to make it to the end.
But for... let's say undisclosed reasons, I've been inspired to spend a playthrough with Sera and Solas in the party while I constantly act like a dick to him. I've heard he's the only one who never leaves... but I'm not sure what impact bottoming out our relationship would have.
I'm mostly concerned about whether doing so will cause me to miss out on content/missions or mess up the ending somehow.

You will miss one side quest involving Solas. That's it.
Oh, and he won't like you.

At first I thought you asked if it was worth it.......my thought being "Of Course". Than I realized you asked if you could get away with it.
I mean; pretty much, don't "recall" hearing missing out on any kind of awesome boss fight or uber-gear.

At least insofar anyone in game trying to punish you for it. And whatever consequences there are tend to be minimal like missing a companion quest, the occasional war table mission, or flavor dialogue. Some can have gear involved, but I don't remember any that are all that noteworthy. That said...for Solas in particular, let's just say you may want to be careful what you leave equipped on him at some point.

And everyone else in the party is likely already equipped with their own endgame gear, so it's not like anyone will need his hand-me-downs.

If you earn his dispaproval and never ask Solas any questions, you'll also unlock a very rare dialogue option at the end of Trespasser that changes the scene between the Inquisitor and Solas. It's hilarious.
