Last of my Dragon Age reviews for the time being
The word that comes to mind for me with this movie is “mediocre”
It’s a mediocre film with a mediocre story. The visuals are dated now and weren’t great at the time. It has a few moments of visual flare in the climax that I actually like though.

I figured your last video was either about DotS or Magekiller.
I actually disagree with you on one point: I find it less likely that Frenic could be controlling a bunch of golems than manipulating darkspawn through the use of blood magic. You can use blood magic on darkspawn, while finding a bunch of control rods is ... very unlikely.
Overall, it's just a really weird moment from a lore perspective.

Actually that brings up a point; technically aren't the darkspawn already under the control of a type of blood magic via the blight in their veins? As a conceit really; shouldn't you have to be battling the will of the archdemon to take control of one?

The Old Gods call to the darkspawn and the Archdemons command them during a Blight, but it’s not like they control every individual darkspawn’s movements.
Darkspawn can still be manipulated through blood magic; for instance, in Last Flight, a blood mage is able to compel a genlock to seek out an entrance to the Deep Roads.

Movie Review - Dragon Age Dawn of the Seeker (I Have Mixed Feelings) I'm going to have to watch Dawn of the Seeker now. I keep getting told to watch it and that it might be up my alley. I thoroughly enjoyed the one about Kristoff in Amaranthine. Who knows, maybe I'll enjoy this one too.

Darkspawn can still be manipulated through blood magic; for instance, in Last Flight, a blood mage is able to compel a genlock to seek out an entrance to the Deep Roads. And in The Calling, the Architecht could direct many of the darkspawn, but not all and he could not control all of their instincts when it came to Genevieve's brother.
