What if romances were not marketed?

That might be different if all romances were playersexual but when they are so restricted, i'd like to know what my limited options are for orientation i'm playing.

It certainly would add a measure of surprise to the experience - not knowing what can happen with whom... Yes I think I would rather stay in the dark. Of course, if you set your sight on a cuty and it turns out he/she isn't a ) into your character - b ) isn't romanceable - that would suck but then again, such is life.

You don’t sleep with Solas (on screen at least). Trespasser implies you might have, but it’s a missable conversation and even then I feel it’s up to interpretation.

You can choose to take things slow and not sleep with Dorian. I don’t know if they imply you’re only postponing the deed or if you can interpret it as actually abstaining completely.

Yeah. And in DAO you can actually romance Leliana without sleeping with her, similar to Dorian’s situation. I heard someone say the same can be done with Alistair and maybe Zevran, but I haven’t tested that. Then in DA2 there is Sebastian, though that game makes fun of that kind of relationship more than supporting it.

Yeah, it does take Cass a while to shoot a female PC down. In character for her, I thought, since she has trouble believing that a male Inquisitor actually has intentions towards her.

Probably best to have the info out there. It's not like anyone is forced to read it.

I want the full details. I don't want to start a game only to find out the character I want to romance isn't attracted to my gender/race or what have you and have to start over or settle. That would make me sad I play for the story/characters/relationships and that's what matters most to me.

If not full detail, I want them to...

- Confirm that they have all M/F F/F M/M in game
- COnfirm that all of them are equal in term of quality (number is not have to be equal as long as quality are)
- Confirm and show all of them in trailer without tell us who is availble to who

Part of the problem I see is no matter what BioWare does when it comes to the story you are going to have equal amounts of "you shared too much" or "you shared too little" while giving people that are looking for a reason to campaign against the game for unhealthy reasons ammunition to do so. I remember all the blowback when BioWare released the opening cinematic for Mass Effect 2 and the official boards could have been used as a salt mine. Even now there was a teaser video BioWare released for Mass Effect: Next and people are already building up what the game will be on that short video.  Which is only going to lead to the game being more grand then it possibly would ever be.

I know people want to know things, but I don't think the internet has a healthy relationship with BioWare and it will just turn out to be a mess if they release anything aside from generic information and if you want to know more wait until the second week and everything will be out there.

You underestimate my ability to spoil myself. I know that's a me problem but I can't be the only one who ends up incapable of avoiding pre-release info.

Care to give Sparknotes? I don't really follow ME, so I am totally ignorant on the drama.
