The Legendary Edition's currently a missed opportunity in my opinion, it should have been Mass Effect's equivalent to the Master Chief Collection, it is still rife with bugs and apparently just abandoned?
No Pinnacle Station implementation, no Multiplayer, still broken animations and lighting over a year later now?
It is quite a shame honestly, and something that should be rectified if possible if by some miracle Bioware listens... I absolutely adore Mass Effect but the Legendary Edition should have been the one stop shop for the whole experience.

No Pinnacle Station implementation, no Multiplayer, still broken animations and lighting over a year later now? They lost coding or something that made them unable to implement Pinnacle Station. Or so they said. Not sure why a modder could easily recreate Pinnacle Station but BioWare devs could not. |

Once ME3 had been around for a few years they no longer cared and implemented a different system where you went to some website, checked out a few systems here and there, and then your war assets went up. Removing both of those things entirely made the most sense. You sink or swim based on how you play the SP game.

Yea hit took them a while to realise i tbut I'm gla dtha tME3 in the LE is the way it is now. It makes for a far better single player experience

On one side of the industry, you have some amazing remasters/remake (Mafia and ME1), others that only update the games' visual to more modern consoles (ME2, ME3) and others that go very wrong (GTA DE). It seems to be a matter of allocating resources, and TBH it's the price to pay since they were (and still are) working on the next ME and Dragon Age, this goes for the Multiplayer as well. To be fair, ME1 was a spectacular work and the other 2 were just icing on the cake. I don't really think it's abandoned, because that would say that the game is in an unplayable state, since it would take some resources (again, allocation of them) to go back and fix some bugs. Some games just don't fix all the bugs after the company decides to move to another project. It's not just a switch. And frankly, The experience playing the LE was great to me, even after having played the originals. And I also don't think it was a missed opportunity, since it brought new people to this community and many folks were able to experience it for the first time or see others experience it for the first time. Also, the fuss about Pinnacle Station is really because it isn't there, because if it was, 90% of those people wouldn't play it. Citadel DLC did the combat simulation thing way better. Also, also, if you're still not convinced, the trilogy is still around, it's cheap nowadays and the MP servers still work and are quite populated. Plus, if you want Pinnacle Station and these other issues fixed so bad, you could grab it on PC and get a few mods to make it work.

You won't get the MP back but for the rest, the modding community's got you covered.

There is also lot's of lighting fixes and reshades on the Nexus as well, for eample, there is one mod that brings dynamic lighting back for ME1 LE.

That is actually a bit more complicated.
As most people by now, the DLC was developed by Demiurge. BW apparently tried to get the source code from them in order to integrate it into MELE but the code couldn't be found.
Now, why couldn't BW do what the modders did? It's because BW only has tools that can manipulate the game in he source code or UE3 Editor before compilation. The modding tools, which were developed by the community however are specifically built to manipulate the complied (baked) game itself. For this reason, the modders could take the compiled version of the DLC from the OT, make necessary changes and then plug into the compiled version of MELE. I am sure, this was still a great deal of effort to make work and kudos to the modders who managed it but it is literally something BW could not do.
Maybe they could have used the modding tools themselves somehow but I doubt they have anyone trained to work with them and who knows what kind of legal grey zone they would have plunged into when using those free tools (and tools that are not quite acknowledged or condoned by Epic, the owners of the engine) to put something into their commercial product. I am sure EA would have had all sorts of issues with that. Furthermore, I am also sure it never occured to BW to try anything like this. As a BW developer once mentioned to the modding community, for the ME game devs themselves, the modding tools are a little like "black magic" (aka they don't quite understand them).
So yea, it's a little more complicated than "didn't want tot bother".

Yeah I am still not convinced, on console you are better with the originals, on PC you need mods to bring them up to being worthwhile. That's a disappointing result to me.
