Sometimes lash or concussive arrows will bounce harmlessly off a phantom's bubble, sometimes they will go right through the bubble and send the phantom flying. Anyone know what causes it to occur one way or the other?

I cannot take the Phoenix twins or taken Zaeed's Son seriously. One is just very mundane to me...but funny how I think the Phoenix twins are the best against their former employer...and then there is the squishy, very skill reliant Talon merc. I mean if you can get the Cain Mines to work, you're about the best damage dealer there is...
But why would the Concussive or AP arrows cause the bubble? Isn't that a melee attack, or treated as one just like Shadow Strike? (I have one game with the Merc, and it was against Geth...torture).

Here's what you can do to avoid glitches like that. Get a Phantom to flip/get stunlocked then launch the attack.

I noticed that near the end of the bubble state, the bubble isn' inpenetrable anymore. Typicaly I launch a first lash, it gets blocked and, because I'm insane, I just try again and surprisingly it works 90% of the time even though the bubble is up.

Probably catching her just as her bubble is about to wear out.

Yep the bubble animation is down but the denial power is still up. The way to avoid is to shoot them in the goddamn face with your load while they're still.

Charged based weapons are really good with him though like the arc pistol or graal because the auto aim arrows makes them really easy to use.

Noticing this is what prompted my question. I'll just follow Oni's advice and hit them mid-flip. Thanks all.

I find it usually takes 2 lashes to launch a phantom. The 1st will bring up her bubble, the 2nd ( if you took the penetrate shields/barriers evo) will send her flying. Concussive arrows? Do people actually use the talon merc? kidding, it's been so long since I specd into them, that I forgot which evo's to pick to send her flying on the 1st barrage of arrows.

The one one game I have played as Pheonix Adept was with a Cryo Falcon...months ago, but if my memory serves correct
If a Phantom is staggered, then the lash will work every time you can get the orange target box. Though Phantoms do the SpaceX Falcon rocket booster re-orient technique to right themselves often too.
