I only ever did it once. I made a character called Nobby Shepard, gave him a nasty flattop haircut and a moustache and then went through all three games deliberately choosing the worst-possible outcome for every single encounter. Nobby insulted, brushed off, provoked or alienated everybody he interacted with, killed anything and anybody who could potentially be killed, set up every scenario for the worst-possible result.
ME:3's Citadel party was absolutely pitiful, as most of the ME:2 squadmates were dead and hardly anyone turned up. Initially he chose the Refuse ending when encountering the Star Brat, but then I reloaded it and did Destroy with lowest-possible EMS and most of the Normandy crew dead.
It was a pretty grim affair, and some of the choices I made made me feel tainted....

I think it is the best to mix it up and go with your guts for every decision

I think it is the best to mix it up and go with your guts for every decision I agree that not all Renegade choices are bad and not all Paragon choices are good. I mean, taking out the guy working on the gunship in Archangel's recruitment mission just makes sense. Why would you possibly choose otherwise other than to add some difficulty to the game?

I decided to mostly play Renegade but also do some Paragon things, depending on the circumstances. I like this a lot better than just Renegade all the time, or Paragon. I'm going to save the Council I think.

My favorite Sheps are probably about 2/3 paragon, 1/3 renegade. Shep will always try to be nice and reasonable with people but mess with their crew and you are going down hard.

Just be more selective about it. If you don't wanna be a dick to your favourite character then don't be. But you can still headbutt all the krogans you want..kill enemies in creative ways while spouting bond one liners and be snarky to all authority figures. But when Ashley's telling you her life story maybe don't call her boring and make fun of her dead dad. selective.
