Can you...
***
Can you smell cyanide?
Can you move your eyes clockwise/counterclockwise a bit? (Never met anyone who can do this but me.)
Can you wiggle your ears?
Can you click your ankle? (Again, never met anyone who can but me. The tendon kinda goes "click" over the outside ankle-bone. I don't do it too much cause I don't wanna screw up my feet but the sound is remarkably... audible.)
Can you feel your heart-rate slow down or speed up depending on if you're breathing in or out? (AKA: Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia)

I've never tried to smell cyanide, doesn't is smell like almonds or something?
I believe I can, it feels like I can when I tried, I had to get up and go to a mirror but of course how could i see my own eyes moving? I'm going to say yes.
Yes, for as long as I can remember.
I've had an ankle click at times but cannot do it on demand.
Nope. I do not that my heart rate is disturbingly faster than it used to be when I was young and in good shape.

I can slow down my heart by breathing in a specific way which I verified with a blood pressure monitor, but I cannot do any of the other things.

I believe I can, it feels like I can when I tried, I had to get up and go to a mirror but of course how could i see my own eyes moving? I'm going to say yes. Cyanide=almonds, sort of. When I was in my mid teens I broke my arm. When the nurse applied the cast something smelled weird, nurse noticed and mentioned there was a derivative of cyanide as an antibacterial...? (26 years ago, IIRC) She was the one that told me every so often someone could smell it and that that probably was what it was. I get why they describe it as almond but it was not almond, more like if almond was a chemical. Like strawberry candy flavouring is to actual strawberries. Nothing close but it evokes a sense of "sure it's close enough."
I have not had the chance to test it again insofar as I know.

I, actually didn't think about trying to see your eyes rotate yourself. Roomates/partners told me over the decades.
You could record it though come to think of it.

My head was.. shall we say, put together incorrectly; I suffer from hyperacusis and hyperosmia. As you can imagine, that has made my life rather interesting at times. So yes, I can smell cyanide quite well, as well as benzaldehyde, both found in almonds. Can you tell, if someone lives in a house that has mold in it, just by how her clothes smell? Can you tell, if a musical instrument is out of tune?

Mold smell, I suspect I know precisely what you're talking about. I usually smell it from dreadlocks or woolen sweaters. In general I'd say my sense of smell is pretty terrible, but certain things kinda have a pungent-punch-to-the-face quality, (Ie. walking by them on the street) and that mold smell is unmistakable and weirdly prevalent.

No idea if I can smell cyanide because I have never been exposed to it afaik? I can wiggle my ears though No to the other things you ask about GOF. Mold smell...one of the reasons I probably do not eat mushrooms or mature cheese or do not like the smell of worn socks Can you tell if someone is lying?

Mainly no to most things in this thread, but I have two crude methods to spot liars: 1- Simply know the truth myself. 2 - I've noted that frequent liars tend to think other people also lie.

Can you tell if someone is lying? Everyone has secrets that they feel are shameful or distasteful. It's human nature.
Every person therefore is adept at keeping those secret. They have consistent emotional benefit, behavioural conditioning (literally) to keep them so.
So, no. If it's a lie that's important enough to the person, I can't spot it.
***
That said, in general there are some obvious lies and tells, anyone that's done "time" in Customer Service will relate. When I worked in a post office I'd hear some pretty consistent lies repeated from different mouths. Slight variations but it's the same story. I know people working in liquor stores or other places with ID requirements deal with similar issues.
The only way you're getting out of giving me ID is if I know you and you're the supervisor of the Starbucks I frequent and you send the pretty redhead cashier I've been chatting up with my favourite latte to pick it up for you.

Yeah...I guess that is true depending on circumstances and whatnot.. Can you imagine a world that no longer works on fossil fuel? I assume you mean a world that still contains humans in some form?
The answer is "yes, absolutely". I believe we will move on from fossil fuels not too long from now and will look back on the 200-300 years they were most heavily used as an era of massive pollution. That said, I also think we will not move on quickly enough to really prevent the environmental changes already set in motion. Maybe - hopefully - lessen them a little but within the next 50-100 years we'll have to deal with a massive reduction in usable soil on the planet, more severe weather and other related catastrophes, the corresponding movement of entire populations as well as the resulting conflicts and we - as in the human species and all other life on the planet for that matter - will pay with a hefty death toll as a result.
But I do believe (and hope) that we'll walk out of this tragedy on the other side and continue to progress (and surely make other mistakes there as well but that's not our problem). So yeah, call me an optimist in the long run but a pessimist for the near future of humanity.

Before that, I'd always been "one of those people" who said they were good but... didn't really have anything to back it up except alt-tabbing too much and listening to things while I did other things.
I realized that in fact I was not multitasking most of the time, it was quite the opposite. Took a lil introspection I gotta say. The truth was there though, instead I was training myself to block things out and concentrate on the task.
Now when someone claims they're good at multitasking I kinda nod and try and find a grain of salt to take it with.

It depends of course (how much I care). I'm not a 'competitive person', that competes at everything and has to be the best at everything. No, that's not me. But I suppose the answer is really no, I can't accept defeat. I remember shameful moments as a kid I think I also kinda regard "defeats" not as failures, but more as "unfinished business", meaning I intend to return to that some day. I believe in things like: "If you at first don't succeed...", "Start by doing it badly", "The Master has failed a hundred more times than the student has tried", "The secret of success is to fail often". As for multitasking, it has actually been very thoroughly researched and tested in regards of fighter pilots and astronauts. And the results are very conclusive: No one can multitask! It's a complete myth and vanity. Those who try, at work for example, are usually not good at their job. They can't be, because they don't keep focus and they don't absorb feedback and lessons. What "multitasking" combat pilots actually do, is that they prioritize (not just by importance but also how fast it's done) and then they focus on each task sequentially, and do it as rapidly as possible. Can you make a fire?

Yup, I can make a few different types. With and without matches. My favourite is a trench, kinda like this but smaller, and you have to take the wind into account so it's blowing into it. One end is typically deeper than the other as well. Dead Old Man's Beard lichen on the very bottom, shavings(not always), kindling, sticks, in a criss-cross pattern over the bottom. Then if you're cooking on it line it with thick sticks/thin logs splits. Once that's done if you want to keep it going put big thick logs on it. They don't even have to be dry, as they'll dry out over the rest of the coals. They'll eventually burn through the middle, drop down, and keep the fire going. (Was taught this on a very wet camping night around Cranbrook BC.)

Yes, I base most of my decisions mostly on logics / reason. Unlike most politicians. In fact I find it easy to exclude emotions in all areas of life if I want to, I absolutely do have a good built in robot-mode.
