The site is working absurdly slow of late...

Okay, I know there's another similar thread, but I feel like I have to open a new one.

I'd dare to say that since ever the site has been really slow. Whenever you open a new tab and you try to scroll it just hangs and lags like no tomorrow. Even when you're typing to write the site hangs, it takes a heck of a lot for the characters to show up on the box, I feel like it's 1998 and I'm on my old windows 98 computer with 32mb of ram. In fact I'm typing all this through notepad because the site is so slow I can't stand it (maybe I'm being dramatic).



I don't think it's the ads, I mean it cannot be. There's just one ad at the top and there's no way that it could cause such a severe performance loss on the page. It's not even gifs or images in threads, since this also happens when you try to write a completely new thread.

You can even see the little "loading" symbol on the tab you're in every few seconds, like the site is constantly trying to load something. This doesn't happen on regular websites.



Could it be Google chrome not liking the site? can't really say, never tried to open the forums on a different browser. Maybe some Firefox user could dissipate doubts.

Some days are worse than others, but as a general rule it's always very slow comparing to anything else.
