Why do we need Vampires in Dragon Age? Aren´t Werewolves not enough?
In my opinion the Vampire kinda like creature should be a like already in the video mentioned Hunger Demon which by the way which been very rarely used that much in DA. But i guess a Hunger Demon isn´t that sexy & cool like the typical vampire stereotype.

I haven't watched the video, so I don't know anything what's being said there but I just don't see Dragon Age and vampirism going together. Fantasy setting doesn't get better by adding more fantastic creatures. Just look at ghasts.

There are vampires in the setting already - a vampire is what you get when a hunger demon possesses a living host. (This seemingly doesn't happen a lot, probably because hunger demons are weak and possessing living human hosts is quite difficult.)
I wouldn't mind seeing one, just out of curiosity.

That's true, I didn't think of the short stories. I was thinking of more Anne Rice or Dracula type of vampires, though. That's probably why I felt it wouldn't work in a DA setting.

It'd be cool to see Thedas' answer to vampires, particularly since we're going north and have so little information on them, the writers could pretty much do what they like.

Had always imagined Dragon Age vampires are not a specific creature, just a term used to describe those who undergo extreme delving into blood magic. There is a mage like Avernus who researches blood magic in the hopes of immortality, manages a form of it but at the cost of others blood.

Vampires are so overused in fantasy settings that I wouldn't want to see more of them in series that didn't really establish their existence. There are hunger demons possessing living things, but those are essentially just cannibals with some supernatural properties.
One of my larger annoyances with the Dragon Age Inquisition was that they introduced a fair amount of new creatures that occurred fairly frequently and weren't really seen before in games, even in the same environments. For example, several new types of demons that we never saw before were encountered left and right in the Inquisition, and despite rather heavy dealings with demons such as Dao, DaO:A, or DA 2, not once did we meet those types of demons in prior games. How the hell did we never run into giants in Dragon Age and its expansion pack despite introducing them in Ferelden? I don't mind adding new enemies, but if you're going to add new enemies to a new game, I prefer solid justification as to why we never saw or heard about that type of enemy. Reasons for absence could be "This specific type of enemy occurs within specific regions, such as local fauna" or "this type of enemy is very rare (in such a case, don't throw such an enemy left and right at me)." Same with horses that they introduced to Ferelden 10 years after the first game, despite the fact that it's stated that your party doesn't use them and that using horses would be a massive boon during the first game (faster travel in time of blight), leading to the question of why the warden and his party didn't use horses.

I think Thedas already has vampires, kinda sortof ... I think it's from the DAO codex entries, Devouring Corpses and Fanged Skeletons are described as "Corpses/Skeletons possessed by Hunger Demons", and they have the Drain Life ability, litterally feeding on the living. Let me try and grab it. Here's the skeleton one : dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_SkeletonA "fanged skeleton" is a skeleton possessed by a hunger demon. These skeletons devour whatever life they encounter and often possess the ability to drain life energy and mana from their victims. And the corpses one : dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Devouring_corpseHideous ravenous creatures, devouring corpses tend to congregate and attack en masse, seeking to consume any living beings they can reach. Their voracious appetite for flesh is endless and their hunger for life is so powerful that some devouring corpses have even shown the ability to drain their opponents’ life forces merely by being in close proximity. I guess you could say the Devouring Corpses are more like ghouls in the traditionnal sense, but the Fanged Skeleton seems like a pretty neat take on the vampire to me, I find it original Edit for a lil' Fanged Skeleton art : Nevermind, the images aren't working, but they're the ones on the Fanged Skeleton page on the DA wiki

For example, you mentioned ghouls, but also zombies (although they're a variety of familiar types of creatures, so it may not be much of a relevant distinction outside of specific settings) tend to live in fiction. If we are talking about draining life and/or mana, that's not an exclusive ability of vampires in the undead category either. For example, ghosts (of various types) not infrequently possess the ability to drain mana or life with their presence or special ability in fantasy settings. For example, as early as the Quest for Glory series, there were wraiths that, if you merely happened to be in their presence, your health would start to drain (at least without proper protection). Wraiths from Pathfinder and D&D are the second example (albeit not the only type of undead in those settings that can drain life); screamers from Fable are the third one. Ghosts from The Elder Scrolls Arena are a magic-draining variety.

If the mage survived the ordeal they can become a vampire and a very powerful blood mage. The demon is still inside them but won't be possessed by them any longer.
