Kroguard is cakewalk vs Geth. It's an absolute unstoppable beast with a Reegar, because he's nearly unkillable. But when Phantoms, Atlases, Brutes, Banshees and Crabs come into play - things can get a little tricky, cos he's slow on acceleration, he can't dodge and if your Charge doesn't go off - you can get gutted pretty easily. Personally I played only melee Kroguard with a Wraith and Bonus Power on Charge with Adrenaline Mod. Super fun Tried the Kroguard on U/U/G and got Reapers; had a pug lobby going and nobody joined - I soloed until wave 7 and got...... BANSHEEGRABBED. Then I got grabbed on lolsilver. So yeah, I guess Kroguard kills geth dead but YMMV with everyone else.

So much pyjakery on this thread. Reegar -shudders-. The only things a Kroguard needs are a boomstick of your choice and the omniblade. I go with Graal because you can fire while running and it staggers phantoms, plus no armor damage reduction. It also lets you hit things from distance during hacks, escorts and the like. Be sure to always host against cerbs (or accept you'll be synced at some point), reapers and trollectors are ok off-host if you keep a healthy distance from Banshees and Crabs, and Geth are a non-issue.
Seriously tho, he's just awesome, and I recommend geth scanner on him. It decreases the chances of synckills immensely.

Definitely broken in terms of survivability, but not in terms of dps. He is a great tank and as others have said laughable vs Geth

Balance was never a concern on ME3MP, only for a few months period in which some whiners whined too much. Gladly not enough to get the Kroguard nerfed.
But yeah, since you asked, he is broken.

I think I remember someone mentioning somewhere that in-game or in match, the name above the characters should have also included the name the person set for the character.
So to accomodate that, whenver I play Renegade Train off-host, I actually use a Graal with blade or Raider for more tanking, more thinking...and then charging to get the shield boost, and then using more range again.
A Reegar without incendiary isn't really as powerful, so I use Warp rounds for just flat damage instead. Hey if someone warps and I'm not host, I'm not going to charge a Phantom just cause! That's where the Warp Ammo kicks in, right in there where it hurts!

I'm pretty sure that they decided not to visualize the specific character names as some people find it amusing to use very offensive names, they would then need to monitor this which requires a lot more resources and higher costs, it's not like an MMO where there are full time employees preventing it.

If I'm doing a Gold Solo with the KroGuard I usually just use that glorified pea-shooter, the Disciple, with the Omni-Blade. Charge-melee-melee-krogan laugh. Rinse and repeat. It feels really good to smack everything around. Especially Geth.
If it's a pug I like to use the Wraith.

Never played the kroguard after I first got it and tried it out. So I figured it was about time. Specced it out a couple of ways and gave it a go.
Even I couldn't stand the constant roaring. Joined one GIP wave 1, and as soon as I started meleeing the other three rage quit. It's worse than the novaguard.
I'll keep him around in case I weaken and go for gold solos.

You nailed on the head like you keeping nailing those Plat runs. I better become a better scrub. But I made myself feel better by teaching someone how QFE, QFI and reload canceling works today.

If the geth have the stunlock fest, why shouldn't we have the Krolord and the Kroguard? He's the first character with which I soloed platinum (obviously against geth) and my second favorite among all characters. He's not broken. You just have to L2P with him, including against other factions than geth.

You just have to L2P with him, including against other factions than geth. He is broken, but not in terms of being a bad kit that's hard to play, broken here more refers to that he's one of the more OP kits in the game, unless you really suck or play off-host with a very bad connection it's a bit of an accomplishment in itself to acctually die playing this kit, put a Reegar on him and it's just OP over the top.
