Ooookay, I just carried wave 10 of a Hydra/Geth/Gold with some rather mediocre pugs. I was using a level 16 Kroguard (name: Kitchen Corps) and I managed to carry 3/4 devices, kite the toastahs off the last one (near the LZ) and pick off the three remaining Primes and five Pyros/Hunters. On wave 8 I ended up by myself (full disclosure - okay, I was a Krogan running around the map killing stuff) in the triangular area under the Cheatin' Snipin' Porch and I swears I waded through a freaking army of Pyros, Hunters, and Arrugula Troopers for the better part of a minute, laying about them, blasting with teh Purrana, and blowing up Fire Splosions with Charge until they were all dead. I think I burned one Ops pack in the middle of that to stay upright when three Pyros were hosing me at the same time. We all died but somehow extracted (I was alive but running toward the LZ and didn't make it). I finished first by just under 80K. Except I wasn't doing anything that special - I was playing this guy pretty much the way I play the Kroldier; the difference being I had Rage specced to damage protection and was using Cyclonic IV. And of course I was using Barrier. Even then it seemed really easy and I had to remind myself that I, as host, had set the lobby to Gold. And of course on-host Vanguards play their best. I was using the Piranha X with Inced IV, Shotgun Amp, and Shotgun Damage V. Smart Choke and standard AP mod. A screencap of the scoreboard will follow once I get around to uploading the photo. So is this guy OP or is it just me? It seems like he's vastly better than the other kroggens. Or does he just have advantages against Geth? Against Reapers I'm pretty sure a Banshee would have synched me on wave 10. Update: epeen:I had played a few Silver matches with these pugs and noticed the last guy (shillyshally) joined the lobby with Carrier X and Wraith X and maxed out with high-grade equipment. So I bumped it up to gold, assuming he knew what he was doing.

The Kroguard have been OP since 2012.
Using cyclonics and Incendiary IV for gold Geth is practically over kill with that kit.

Kroguard is cakewalk vs Geth. It's an absolute unstoppable beast with a Reegar, because he's nearly unkillable. But when Phantoms, Atlases, Brutes, Banshees and Crabs come into play - things can get a little tricky, cos he's slow on acceleration, he can't dodge and if your Charge doesn't go off - you can get gutted pretty easily. Personally I played only melee Kroguard with a Wraith and Bonus Power on Charge with Adrenaline Mod. Super fun

Then again it took 32 min, that's worthy of praise, unless 30 of it was foreplay.

On host Kroguard with cyclonic lV, piranha and incend lV against gold geth... Son, would you like some bread with all that cheese?
The kroguard on host is tanky enough to survive easily on gold without any cyclonics and you also got the on host biotic charge as well. Pretty much the reason why a lot of people when they first start soloing gold, go for the usual kroguard geth giant combo with reegar cheese.
Hell, sometimes when I'm fed up with all the geth bullshit, I take the kit out to bronze with some incend lll and adrenaline mods and just cheese the fuck out of those cheating little shits. Let's see you double tap that missile now mothafucka!

The kroguard and warlord are like two middle fingers to the geth. Kroguard is almost indestructible against them and probably more efficient but he doesn't have a hammer so.....

The Kroguard And the Batguard both are cheese against the geth. Might as well use the cheese to karmaticly balance out geth stuncheese.

Yes, he is. It wasn't until 1 year after I finished the lone wolf challenge...after reading about it at BSN, I gave it ago...with an incid ammo reegar...It turned geth into a joke...by far was the easiest solo I have ever done.

Anything lightweight where you can charge as soon as barriers break with the kroguard is broken. Batguard is possibly easier with the reegar cheese imho though.

Well the Kroguard was the first kit that soloed platinum, the first kit (and for a long while, the only) that soloed gold under 20 mins... Now you get why I guess XD
I still think no gold solo is easier than Kroguard vs geth.

It's not so much the Proguard as the toasters being broken (as usual) and the Proguard being the easiest kit with which to exploit this (mash the Biotic Charge button repeatedly= win). All of their "difficulty" (what little of it there is anyway) is based upon garbage stunlock mechanics and glitches like triple tap rocket cheaters, which disproportionately affect squishier kits more reliant on mobility and damage output. When you meet them with a tanky kit that isn't affected by stunlockshit and isn't insta--downed by 3000 points of glitched burst damage fucking bullshit, the result is utterly predictable. It's the same for the Krolard (tho he's a bit less mobile, and therefore less effective from a speedrun standpoint).
Against any faction other than gold or below geth, I wouldn't even put him in the top 15 or 20 characters, probably. He's vulnerable to buggy, lag sensitive sync kills, and crutches heavily on a Quarian death ray for full effectiveness. Even as a pure Reegar-Bot, there are 3 or 4 better options IMO.
If I had to pick a "most effective" Krogan, it's probably the soldier with his cheese nades, but that's kind of a stupid metric. Krogan are more about style rather than speed. Put a bayonet on your Claymoar, disembowl things, laugh heartily, compliment me on my MUAHAH HEADSHOT, and you're doing it right.

Nat in the Cubbies Hat can do a Batarian/Cookie Monster "GOOD" with uncanny perfection.

To me, and by no means am I an expert, but the KroGuard is to the fuckin geth what the Venom is to Phantoms. A way to even out the broken bullshit on both sides.
