The leaks from a while back mentioned a “Mournwatch Reaper” as a warrior who uses magic. I think this might be referring to either a reimagined Spirit Warrior specialization, or a companion that uses a Spirit Warrior type spec.
Thoughts?

Very possible, the mourn watch is a faction with the mortalitasi who are big into spirits, a non mage member being a spirit warrior would make sense.

It is a distinct possibility, if not for the Mournwatch Reaper, then some other class associated with Tevinter. I've long expressed the hope that they might revive the Spirit Warrior class now we are heading north and people there have a much more relaxed attitude towards working with spirits. Technically it doesn't require the individual to be an actual spirit occupying a body but simply forming an association with a benign spirit, much as the Seekers do, except that was only explained in lore and not as a feature of Cassandra's class, which was basically just the Templar spec.
Anyway, we don't know if a Mournwatch Reaper is an actual spirit occupying a deceased person or just a specialised warrior from Nevarra that has a close tie to a spirit of the Fade. However, if that screenshot from 2020 showing a potential line up of party members is anything to go by, then at least one companion may well be a spirit of some sort. Since "glow-head" did correspond with the illustration of a short story about the Mortalitassi, I think this is the origin of the idea. Then I believe the "leak" at the beginning of the year seemed to have some reference to Mournwatch Reaper and so people joined up the dots.
To be honest I would prefer the Spirit Warrior to be in accordance with its original description of being an ordinary warrior who has formed close bond with a benign spirit rather than an actual spirit itself because I feel they have explored the idea of a spirit finding its way in the world sufficiently with Cole and it would be good to experience a positive mortal/spirit relationship after the disaster that was Anders/Justice.
As a side note, it would seem it is the spirit protecting the Seeker's mind is the reason they can't be possessed by demons or controlled by blood magic. This might be a good way of explaining how the warrior could shield themselves from the attentions of, say, Solas. I am rather hopeful that in this case the spirit involved would not be a Faith spirit but a Hope spirit, the most powerful but rarest of all the benign spirits. Since spirits of this type are able to work with any class if they choose to do so, could being adopted by a Hope spirit be a feature of our new hero?
