Okay, so I got the plugins backwards : the one with the little popup is from the Quote Selected Text plugin.



This is actually working, when I click it, the quote appears in the reply box (it's how I quoted that section of what you wrote to reply here)

Why it's appearing in random places on the page instead of right by the selected text... I'm not sure. I haven't been able to replicate that behavior on FFX 120.0.1 or 121.0, Chrome 119.0.6045.199 and Brave v1.61.114. It doesn't appear to work on Safari 14.1.1.

The Quote Selections v1.1.0 plugin appears in the Gear box menu like it should, but it never fills out the reply box with the quote. I'm not sure why that is, but I'll see what I can do.

I just realized, what's common for those latter pictures; this padding:

I think they have. We were ad-free for a little while - I don't remember the circumstances, but it was nice. It could be a remnant of that. I'll also check for that padding in the theme definitions. I made a test proboards account and put divs around the ads which hid them, but then I figured that could be bad news for BSN if I ported it over

rewindbutton I apologize, but I can't seem to figure out what's going on with this. I've been unable to locate that DIV ID in any of the CSS that ProBoards has exposed in the admin console. Perhaps it's some legacy stuff that's being fed with certain ads? I thought it might happen when I get the ads that pop up at the bottom of the browser, vs the embedded ones, but I'm just not seeing it appear. I'm mostly using Chrome though, so I'll try to browse from FFX for a while to see if I can see it happen there.

Aside from that, I also have no idea why the other "Quote Selections" plugin doesn't seem to work. I'm going to see if I can try that on a more vanilla proboards install and see if it's something in our customizations. Of note is the fact that the last entry on the support page for that plugin is a proboards person suggesting that there's a bug and they can't guarantee when they might fix something.... from 2017.

woah... yeah, that I can replicate, lol

You ever find a resolution to this at all? I just ran into someone at work that was having problem with a particular website. Turned out to be a specific plugin they had in their browser caused things to not work. It took a while to figure out though, after clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling... but their login sync would bring the plugins back... and it was just one of the 8 they had.

Just another idea since this just happened.

So, brand new FF install, out of the box, absolutely nothing installed or changed, and still the quick quote button is all over the place. Bizarre.

regack: Since the weird button behavior continues, I thought I'd ask, if it's possible to extend the visibility time of the button? That would give me extra time to find the button on the page.

Okay, thanks for trying. I'm sure I'll manage without, but quick quotes are perfect for fast and snappy replies.
